Is this for the 430 - they happily run on 95 ron (handbook recommends it)
It is, thanks. It's noticably slower on 95, though, and I figured the ECU is using knock control to retard the timing, so I'm not entirely confortable driving it as it was intended if there's 95 in the tank.I used 95 octane in my 430 for the majority of the 3 years I had the car. The rare times it had 98 or 99 I never noticed the difference. As another lister has already said the hand book recommends 95 and I was told the same by the dealer.
Surprisingly the Speciale handbook also recommends 95 octane fuel which really surprised me. I tend to put 98 or 99 in but as stated in Italy and parts of France very difficult to get above 95 so it has had to have 95 when away this summer and it was OK with no real noticeable drop off in performance.
