I've been to no less than eight petrol stations now and none sell 98/99. Do any of you know one?

Thanks.

I was looking yesterday and no one had any. The most likely place to find this fuel in Italy is on the Autostrada. IP and Agip sell it 100octane.

If you're desperate just put 95 in - one tank wont hurt.

Mind you I think last time I was in Maranello the Agip just down from the factory only had 95...

Thanks asll, much appreciated. Tracked down an Agip using http://travel.eni.com/iveportal/stations/stationfi...

Voicy - thanks. Filled with 95 but I was driving it very gingerly.

Doesn't the owners manual suggest 95 is OK?

Is this for the 430 - they happily run on 95 ron (handbook recommends it)

It is, thanks. It's noticably slower on 95, though, and I figured the ECU is using knock control to retard the timing, so I'm not entirely confortable driving it as it was intended if there's 95 in the tank.

I used 95 octane in my 430 for the majority of the 3 years I had the car. The rare times it had 98 or 99 I never noticed the difference. As another lister has already said the hand book recommends 95 and I was told the same by the dealer.
Surprisingly the Speciale handbook also recommends 95 octane fuel which really surprised me. I tend to put 98 or 99 in but as stated in Italy and parts of France very difficult to get above 95 so it has had to have 95 when away this summer and it was OK with no real noticeable drop off in performance.
