I've just picked up my new A6 BiT and need a sim to use the Audi Connect stuff. Has anyone any experience of the size of typical data use? I am unsure of how big a data pack I need for the sim that goes in the car.

In 10000 miles over 10 months 2.11GB received and 234MB sent. Using as wifi hotspot and Google Earth but I use remote SIM after initially trying dedicated SIM.

Thanks for the info John. That's much less than I was expecting. Out of interest, by remote sim do you mean you don't have one in the slot in the dash?

Yes the SIM slot in the dash is empty. Saves having a data SIM. LG G3 bought to replace iphone to allow remote SIM access. Phone then connects to car wifi. All happens automagically once set up.

0.16GB used since posted previously which will mostly be google earth on motorway. 99% of my use commuting prob doesn't use any as it will be cached.

i will be in a similar position soon and would like to know what sim card data deals people are using. I have an iphone through work so cant change so looking for data sim deals.

ideally i would be able to use the three 321 payg (i know this isnt just data) as it is only 1p per mb. anyone tried this one yet?

I just bought a pre loaded 7gb sim from 3. Only stipulation is the data needs to be used within 12 months. Can't remember cost but it wasn't much.

I've managed to get O2 to share my 20gb phone data allowance. They gave me a second sim (you need a full size sim for the car) and it all works brilliantly.

I really like being able to talk to the sat nav. Went for a drive last night. The difference between dynamic and comfort modes is quite marked. coming home from a restaurant in comfort mode was very relaxing. Driving there in dynamic was less so :-)

Matrix headlights are incredible. So much light yet not one flash from other drivers. As your speed increases, the beam narrows to give better distance illumination. Very cool.
