This looks like a well cared for C32. Have been tempted to message the seller myself, but nowhere to keep here without selling something!

Slightly above thread budget but possibly the best colour for these, even the manual box wouldn't put me off. And mexican hats!

I like the taxi subtlety of these c32s. Very nice! I wonder what it will go for?

Today I am liking this one, anything to be scared of?

...I'm tempted to roll up a primed debit card in the morning but interested in threadist's views.
Looks good to me too. Sensible price and mileage, good spec, and the gaps look fine to my eyes.

I'd be there at 1100 tomorrow as they open with a poised wallet if I were you! Good luck.
Cheers CdG.
It's weird... I hanker a lot, but haven't bought or sold a car in 5 years. I really like my 124 and feel treacherous even thinking about getting rid of it.

Strong money for a car with rust creeping in and niggling electrical issues! Looks bloody good in black though, no-one would look twice until you let loose with the supercharger symphony.

I reckon £4k will buy it, maybe less. Will be watching tomorrow.

You're so retired CDG.

Just go along to the local merc dealer and buy the latest 4 cylinder diesel merc estate - the perfect family car!

The V8 went with the R129 you sold to me

The straight 6 everyday car goes with the W124 estate.

Hold onto that 124 convertible.

2 e-class estates would be weird. I'll run two only for as long as it takes to check out a new one is a sound long-termer and get one of them sold. Just not enough space with our other cars.

not quite the definition of barge is it?

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/a...

Wife has an Impreza and says she want's a cheap convertible that is as fast as the Impreza so I'm thinking Boxster/carrera but this pops up,
convertible
fast
leather
manual
4.2 v8
4 seats
low mileage.

only downside.... it's an audi, she'll say it's boring.

I've a big soft-spot for these, its a "lot of car for the money" and the noise will be awesome.

Not 572 Ruby?

And you can't beat a 124 estate car. Despite my eternal "hankering", this is one unshakeable constant in my motoring life!

I was looking at these a few weeks ago, they were on my (very long) shortlist, take the following with a pinch of salt but "internet research" on audi forums says the engine chain guide/tensioners can go, leaving a bill of about £3k, in parts only! Then the engine has to come out! Failures are rare but something to think about.

Fuel consumption is apparently poor. manuals are geared incorrectly so get an auto, still expect high teens/low 20's mpg in the real world if your careful, on the plus side they sound awesome and look classy, the engine just looks unreal sat under the bonnet too smile

They aren't on my shortlist anymore fyi

The gearing is mad on the manuals, well over 3k RPM at 70... They sound fantastic though.

Thats nuts, for a v8 you'd expect it to be pootling along on idle almost.

Apparently I was wrong on quite how high it is: https://jhmotorsports.com/shop/catalog/transmissio...

But it's 2800RPM at 70mph in top apparently... Rather painful for economy on a 4.2 V8.

I had one in this exact colour scheme. They are lovely things but you would be better off digging a big hole and putting all your money in it.

+1 on both points. Ruby is a fabulous colour, looks particularly good with diamond cut 8-holes.
