After initial lessons from my step-brother, I moved away from Spanish classical guitar to playing Chicago Blues. After 20-odd years of fannying around with other genres, I've migrated back to it and with the internet I find that my blues playing keeps getting better and better.

Of course, this leads to 'tube searches for little nuggets of blues gold. Of which, I think, this is one :-

Stevie Ray Vaughan jams with Albert King

And this :

BB King plays live with T-Bone Walker

Both cases of pupil and teacher reunited.

Deeply soulful :

Robert Johnson - Love In Vain

Raw :

Rory Gallagher - Sugar Mama

Stadium :

Led Zep - Since I Been Lovin' You

Gotta love the blues

One of my all time favourites that I get absolutely mesmerized by is a live version of BB Kings the Thrill Is Gone, performed by the King and Gary Moore. It's one of the best clips I've ever seen, the way they both just play off each other, it is just trhuly beautiful!!

You ought to listen to Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. 'First Train Home' - utterly in the zone.

I know it's bad form to post one's own stuff on here but you might like this. https://soundcloud.com/tom-greenwood/oh-blues

I did indeed enjoy that!

I know what you're saying WRT Peter Green's 'Mac : Need Your Love So Bad is - currently - the only blues guitar vid of me playing I've posted up to the 'tube.

Looking for that BB King / Gary Moore thing, I found this :

Wow.

Here's someone who could have a great blues future. I first heard about him when he was mentioned in a CAR magazine feature last year for a road trip from New Orleans to Chicago :

Christone "Kingfish" Ingram

He'll be about 17 y.o. now, I suspect. A big talent. Too big to be healthy in other ways........
