Went for a walk on Greenham Common, the old airbase is now a large, flat, open expanse. I was wearing a long sleeve tshirt and a zip up hoodie. I was far too hot, even after taking off the hoodie and rolling up sleeves!

Lovely inversion today near here. 9 degrees on top of the hill at 7am, 5.5 degrees and misty at the bottom.

No mist or fog, just exquisite sunsets at the moment.

For some reason I thought you were one of the Norwegian PHers and couldn't work out why the Norwegians had named something "Eisenhower" hehe Is this a normal time for snow in that region, or has it shown up a bit early or late?
Strangely enough there is quite a big American following in Norway, particularly classic cars. We had the first snow around a week ago last year at "my house" level (as recognised by the IPCC and NASA amongst others), but there's still no new snow even on the mountain tops. So it is certainly later than the last year or two. Lots of lovely autumn colours though. Not great quality images (snaps from a naff phone camera, but gives an idea).

A few bits of snow from last year still!

We had a picnic a greenham on Sunday, the car was reporting 19 degrees on the way home!

Get in! First new snow of the year. Sitting in the office and when gaps in the clouds appear it is piling up from 900m+ in altitude, bounce Only "problem" is there hasn't been any proper cold recently, and we are due a lot of precipitation. Means the ground struggles to freeze and creates more unstable snow later on in the season... :S

Enjoy the last 2 days of dry weather! The Atlantic returns on Sunday night, and there's a strong chance that (what remains of) Joaquin will be paying a visit later in the week.

I've sold my Land Rover, so we're bound to be in for a very snowy winter!

The good news is I've had approval to go for the full Piekey look and am now on the hunt for a Mitsubishi L200 biggrin

You could surely pick up (DYSWIDT?) a s/h, open-back, white Ford Transit for less money for that purpose?

I'm screwed, biggrin Flying back tomorrow to Norway and got the MX-5 at the airport on summer tyres with an hour's drive home. Got this photo from a friend, apparently 25cm of snow just arrived.

That's super cheap! Hope it's a good winter! I got my powder skis mounted and picked them up today, so looking forward to trying them.

Certainly winter now... Just wish I had replaced the SLR after it fell in the sea on a previous northern lights trip! So small snappy camera has to do.
