What kits.....

They do - it's one of the best kits available.
Some of their warship kits have some flash and fit issues. There's a fair bit of Squadron green putty on my HMS Hood project. I think it's fair to say that most of the sub assemblies have required filler, unlike the much older Tamiya King George V / Prince of Wales tooling.
It's nothing that can't be worked with, but it does slow things down a great deal; particularly when photo etched parts are involved.
Their Yorktown class carriers were a bit of a disaster shape-wise.
I have their 1/48 DH Vampire ready for paint and it's been quite painless to build. They're somewhat hit-or-miss, I find. I'll always wait for someone else to find out what's in the box before buying a new release.

I messed about re-profiling the nose on a Tornado model I built recently, and ended up fitting a "corrected" resin item. The fact is, despite having stared at loads of reference photos of Tornados, even now I can't see much wrong with the original. Other people say the original is grossly wrong. AFAIC if a model looks how you remember the real aircraft looked, leave it.
I generally agree with that. I bought a replacement fuselage for the Hasegawa 1/48 Spit XVI, based upon magazines slamming the kit for being a few millimetres too long or too short or whatever it was. The replacement fuselage is still in the box. It was horrible. The kit was built OOB and looks rather a lot like a clipped wing Spit XVI.
