....Would you like to see released or re-released?

I'd quite like a B-36 in 1/72 or 1/48 or Airfix to re-tool and rerelease their B-29 in 1/72

Monogram did a B-36 in that scale, and Academy do a nice B-29.

Have you seen the Airfix "kit starter" thing where you can vote for certain kits to be re released?

I saw the B-36 on Ebay most seem to be in the US starting about $65

I'd like an Airfix SAM missile launcher to go with their Bloodhound, but I think it's one of the kits for which the moulds were lost. They sometimes go for silly money on EBay.

The Monogram B-36 is a very impressive model. I don't think Airfix will be releasing one anytime soon so the Monogram kit is the only game in town for the foreseeable future.

It's more recently been sold in Revell boxings as Revell and Monogram merged a good few years ago -

There's no 1/48 Buccaneer currently available, I'm hoping Airfix will re-release theirs at some point.

A re-release of their 1/48 TSR2 would be good too.

I was looking for a 1/32 Corsair the other day, I'd like it if Tamiya did one of those.

They do - it's one of the best kits available.

Sorry, I was unclear. I meant the LTV Corsair II. A great machine, often overlooked.

A bit big for 1/32 I'd guess.

Trumpeter do a 1:32 Corsair II; I've seen several at shows and they do look impressive, especialy with additional cockpit detail.

Crikey, so they do. You know, I've searched and never ever seen reference to that kit before.

Unfortunately the Trumpeter Corsair II has serious flaws around the nose and cockpit, (althoug you have to be a bit of a nerd to notice). Zactoman used to produce a correction set, but I think they've recently stopped making them. That said it does build into an impressive model.

Trumpeter are an odd bunch. They make exquisitely engineered kits - but often containing serious shape and dimension errors.

Some of their warship kits have some flash and fit issues. There's a fair bit of Squadron green putty on my HMS Hood project. I think it's fair to say that most of the sub assemblies have required filler, unlike the much older Tamiya King George V / Prince of Wales tooling.

It's nothing that can't be worked with, but it does slow things down a great deal; particularly when photo etched parts are involved.

Their Yorktown class carriers were a bit of a disaster shape-wise.

I have their 1/48 DH Vampire ready for paint and it's been quite painless to build. They're somewhat hit-or-miss, I find. I'll always wait for someone else to find out what's in the box before buying a new release.

I messed about re-profiling the nose on a Tornado model I built recently, and ended up fitting a "corrected" resin item. The fact is, despite having stared at loads of reference photos of Tornados, even now I can't see much wrong with the original. Other people say the original is grossly wrong. AFAIC if a model looks how you remember the real aircraft looked, leave it.

I generally agree with that. I bought a replacement fuselage for the Hasegawa 1/48 Spit XVI, based upon magazines slamming the kit for being a few millimetres too long or too short or whatever it was. The replacement fuselage is still in the box. It was horrible. The kit was built OOB and looks rather a lot like a clipped wing Spit XVI.
