VW Golf facelift due soon?
Discussion
I am trying to help a relative with their VW Golf configuration here in Germany. To my surprise the "regular" Golf is missing from the configurator.
The Golf is not listed on this site:
http://app.volkswagen.de/ihdcc/de/configurator.htm...
and even when I try to go to the Golf 7 site and press "Konfigurator" just above the picture, it returns an error message.
http://www.volkswagen.de/de/models/golf_7.html
Same for the GTI, GTD, GTE, R, etc..
This has been the case yesterday and it is still missing. Could this hint at a facelift at the IAA?

Vw have admitted doing a 5 year life cycle on the golf from now on, so next year is likely to introduce some kind of update (even if its a major tech/spec overhaul or more kit as standard)
Would expect to have heard about it by now though
They only introduced the MK7 at the very end of 2012 so if they stay true to the new 5 year cycle it still won't be for a good two years.Would expect to have heard about it by now though

No a life cycle for the mk7. IIRC it was 5 years until the mk8 with a likely facelift/update or sorts after 3. So 2016 is the likely date of something.SteBrown91 said:

Something has already happened for 2016, MIB II Infotainment systems and EU6 engines. UK specifically we've also had trim updates such as Match replacing SE, and increased kit on GTD/ GTI models. I'm adamant they aren't suddenly going to start facelifting Golfs after over 40 years of traditionally not doing that! Also the Mk5 and Mk6 were both short cycles due to them essentially been the same car underneath.
There are still several models in the range running on old PQ35 running gear such as the Golf Cabriolet, Beetle, Scirocco and Tiguan which will be getting replaced first. Its only once everything has been transitioned to MQB that we can start thinking about the appearance of a Mk8 Golf
