I see that a lot of the original keilkraft kits are now made by the vintage model company. Anybody know if they're any good ?

I'd expect they are identical. I made a couple of original Keil Krafts in my youth (Ajax and Gypsy - both rubber powered).

Buy the plan and the wood and cut to the plan!

Proper old school with a Keil Kraft model.

My Dad had a couple of large model shops in the 1960's and was one of the largest Keil Kraft dealers in the North West.

Naturally, I used to "sample" much of his stock...Airfix kits as well....smile

The Keil Kraft "Conquest" glider was my favourite, must have made about four or five.

Blimey - £45 for the Ajax. I know inflation will have taken its toll but I'm sure I didn't pay the equivalent of £44.95 back in 1972.

However, I have to say good on them for keeping the production line going.

Thanks for the link Eric.

This little rascal was probably the fastest control line plane in the world in the 60's, you had to be very very good indeed to tame it.

Ah yes brick on a string.

Control line never appealed to me, but then again that's probably because I learnt with digital proportional control so didn't have to endure reed switch r/c

Yes I built a few keilkraft models, some using the jetex engine. They were fun 😀
I see they've upgraded them by going for laser cut and just wondered how they compare to kits like guillows etc.
haven't done any scale modelling for years, well since I was a teen.
