Nice legs shame about the face.
Discussion
A while ago I started a thread titled "ugly assed cars" about cars that looked great as they closed in on your rear view mirror but then let you down as they passed bearing a far from pretty rear view. Now I'm flip flopping around and am asking PHers' what cars do they consider to be motoring equivalent of approaching from behind a very tidy, very fit, well groomed, well dressed trendy looking lady on the nearside pavement, taking a sneaky peek in the nearside mirror expecting to see a pretty face and..... OOF!
Am asking as I passed my first new MX5 on the road today. Gorgeous from the rear and sides, but from the front? oh dear, oh dear oh dear.

Not sure about the GTR. Not a great looking car but that's missing the point a bit and I wouldn't say the front particularly lets the side down. Taking it, as a nice rear, ruined by the front, then I would say most newish Peugeots, Citroens, Renaults, Audis and Mercedes are let down by their frontal styling.
As a lot of these aren't particularly great looking cars from any angle, then prime candidates would be Peugeot RCZ, Audi TT/R8 and AMG GT (the front of Mercedes used to be the best angle but I really dislike the massive grille and badge thing they currently have going on)!
Just a few more that really annoy me.
"Facelifted" Rover 75/MG ZT (pre-facelift, I thought it was a very elegant looking car)
Renaultsport Clio (the 197 was a very nice-looking little thing for a small car but the front on the 200 is horrid)
Porsche 911
Love the back...
Hate the front!
Alfas used to look great from the front but not these two
but the worst offender IMHO is the Ferrari 360 Modena (although IMHO no modern Ferrari looks great from the front). Its predecessor, the 355 looked gorgeous from any angle and these look lovely from the back...
but the aero ruins the front!
Would still love a Challenge Stradale though!

As a Mito OV owner, I agree with the Mito being nice from the rear 3/4 view, not so nice head on or front 3/4 view. It's the headlights that ruin it IMO.
I bought a Mito for my fiancee to learn to drive in, I thought they were really cute little things and look good. They are everywhere in Cannes for some reason!andy-xr said:

Nice, I'm overtaking .....looks sideways. Wait, what the fk is that???
Might I add the 2 series MPV thing.Nice, I'm overtaking .....looks sideways. Wait, what the fk is that???
A gold/beige one loomed into my rear view mirror the other day.
Thought I was being chased by an angry Womble.
Hideous.

No offence intended I don't dislike the Mito (it's still more interesting than 99% of the cars that other people drive) and yes, the rear 3/4 do look great but compared to these, the front end styling is poorAs a current Honda Civic owner and an ex-Impreza WRX owner, I don't really have a leg to stand on though (neither look fantastic from any angle)
