Quicker from 0-100 than a CTR? Can you link me to the proof please?
Not coming here to poo poo but a few friends have these one of which has been mapped to 174ish and in a 0-100 my EP3 (standard apart from an induction kit and cat back) would beat it.That is of course if I didn't miss second

The mid range punch is addictive, 20-50 is quicker than a supercharged elise and 50-70 is quicker than a 260hp 330i.
What gear was the Elise in, Reverse? Was the 330i in 4th or 5th?
The torque is useful but ultimately it's no quicker than any other 175hp car.

It's worth pointing out that a lot of CTR's at their age are an unknown quantity in performance. I've been at a few dyno runs recently a bunch were tested and the results varied from 175bhp through to 200bhp for a heatlhy standard car and up to 249bhp for a ones that had mods. All of them however sounded superb on the dyno!
The dyno runs fascinated me seeing how some older cars performed. My car actually dramatically under-performed although I understand why and its in with the specialist getting fixed.
Still, the CTR has an epic engine, drives superbly but you get the low down torque and fuel economy!

Sorry bud, I wasn't intending to spoil your fun but a healthy CTR should be able to gain an advantage in a long drag race if healthy!

But Yeah it probably would in a long drag race with all those revs! But he couldn't pull away up to a certain speed between 70 and 100 they do sound great tbh, mine sounds terrible.
Ah yes, sound!
Had a 123d that would probably muller any standard VRs or Type R (201bhp and torque to spare) but it still had a tractor engine!
Finally saw the error of my ways last year - bought a Z4 Coupe. Then got a 325ti as a daily
4 cylinders ain't enough, diesel is for farm implements and FWD is usually understeer-city!
Albeit IMHO!!!

Great little cars , they feel much faster than they actually are even stock (Isnt that the best way ? )
My mum had one for three years before replacing it with the MK2 petrol VRS due to a knee problem
Yeah they really. TBH, most diesels feel quicker than they should due to the power deliveryMy mum had one for three years before replacing it with the MK2 petrol VRS due to a knee problem

Ok i've looked it up online and its nit the supercharged one, its the 111r 190bhp one. My bad!
I doubt you'd be able to see which way one of those went, either, if it was being driven properly!I had a sister model of this (Seat Ibiza Sport TDI) and remapped was quick.
You should easily see double that mileage with regular oil changes and maintenance.
I got bored and upped the power of mine and finished off with 230bhp and 410ft/lbs of torque. Stripped all the non essentials and went hunting.
All the common hatch hatches it would pull away from 30mph (0-60 was pointless) and cleared 145mph GPS on a run to Berlin last year.
Apart from the high-end motors (tweaked S4 etc... 350bhp+ etc...) it would make the owners worry. Even wiped the smile off the owner of a 335d on the M40. Had it weighed when empty and it was 1060kg including 1/2 tank. It all depends on power to weight
Let the flaming commence...

230 bhp would need a new turbo which sort of defeats the point of having a diesel car, esp the Fabia which was praised for the balance it had between power and handling.
A lot of cars with a new turbo will crack good bhp so defeats the point, it is like the old overused phrase, taking gun to knife fight.
I like the fabia and 130 tdi seats, but there are not the Be all and end all, I had a 200 bhp Seat ibiza 1.8t and saw off a remapped Fabia, the owner looked a bit frustrated. I love diesel cars but they are not giant killers.

jeeez thats good power and torque, and after it had been to fat fighters, must have been ridiculous. I dont doubt your 335d worrying claims! You should easily see double that mileage with regular oil changes and maintenance.
