M4 or M5? Or keep C63...
Discussion
The 2 year lease on my C63 AMG coupe is about to end, one option is to buy it for £35k, or I could use the opportunity to lease or PCP something else. It seems I can get an M4 for £630pm plus £3,780 deposit over 36 months or an M5 for £669pm plus £4,014. Any thoughts? I do 10k pa mixed driving and rarely need back seats...
If you don't need the space then i'd maybe lean towards the M4, however the performance of the M5 along with you're getting much more car for similar money would draw me towards the M5.
I'm not one to hold onto cars so unless you're in love with your C63 i'd not be looking to keep it & i can assure you the performance difference between the C63 & the M5 is another league.

I've got an M4 Coupe with DCT, had it for a year and I have mixed feelings about it. Noise wise, I like the C63 over the M4 but the old and new C63 are personally not my cup of tea. I could have gone M5/M6 but I just don't want something that big - however I do appreciate the better trim quality and looks of the M6.
The bits which let the M4 down are noise, traction in the winter, rattles, silly issues e.g. horrible noise from brake dust covers and interior quality in places. However the M4 is a good all round car once you've got used to it. It's quick when you want it to be and fairly decent on fuel, and comfortable when on long journeys.
I'm looking around at the moment and can't find anything which floats my boat without going into £110K plus territory. Sorry to be of little or no use.... however, think about the size of the car and if you have a family to transport - usually sorts out which to go for.
I'm probably going to stick with the M4 for another six months after investing in some winter tyres. If you go BMW then get HUDs, sounds gimmicky but actually very good.
Good luck, hope you do better than I'm currently doing.:-)
PS: My local Merc and Audi dealers have been grade A nuggets which have always put me off despite trying to literally give them an order. However the local BMW have also now achieved this status as well which is disappointing.

I test drove both the M4 and M5 and went for the M5. I would agree with above if it's comfort you want and like to blend in M5 all the way 99% of people think it's a 520d
M5 is definitely bigger (although you do get used to it) and has more power obviously but whether it's useable is questionable..get to silly speeds very quickly.
M4 will get way more attention I imagine and will definitely be quicker 'on the twistys.'
Both great cars and don't think you can go wrong really.

Thanks, I have to say I loved the M6 when I test drove one, but can't justify the extra cost. I was left a little flat by the M4, the noise was what really put me off - a weird flatulent noise, although I gather they sound much better with a sports exhaust. Fast approaching decision time, I am a bit of a tart so having everyone think I'm in a 520D doesn't really appeal, I think I need to test drive an M5 and see if it can persuade me out of the current C63. I do also like the look of the new C63 coupe but not due until March 2016...

TBH a c63 looks no different to a C220 to the untrained eye just like an M5 looks no different to an M sport 520d.
Yes, that's fair. My C63 is a very subtle dark blue, but it is amazing how many clients spot the 6.3 badge on the wing - even if they miss the four exhausts...notax said:

The 2 tonne M5 does really well there, with only 2.6 tenths in it. I thought the M4 would spank the M5 round that track.
Hang on a minute that M5 is "special edition" 600+ BHP.That's why it won.
EDIT: should have watched till the end
