Prodigy - Firestarter, this is what they used to use at Which magazine, really will show up a sloppy speaker very quickly..
Great tune.

Knebworth 1996 won't be beaten for that sound though smile

Not my taste in music at all, but a friend of mine uses Sting with Fields Of Gold for his demo track. Having listened to it, I can hear why as there's so many instruments layered on the track that a decent setup can really pick them all out. I've pinched it too now, and it's my go-to track for my own benefit.

Shoot To Thrill also gets used, but as part of the Iron Man 2 intro where Stark flys around with the fireworks going off. I pinched that from said friend mentioned above too, he seems to have a knack for picking stuff that shows off sound particularly well.

Seemed like a load of synthesised tripe to me, but it wouldn't do for us all to be the same.

Indeed. I like it both from a music perspective and a production perspective. Overall my tastes are pretty broad though!

Nice. Very Knopfler to me.

If you like acoustic guitar then try Antonio Forcioni and Tommy Emmanuel. Forcioni is on the Naim label so production is faultless.

I have two albums by Forcione already... 'Acoustic Revenge' and 'Meet Me in London' feat. Sabina Sciubba. They're both lovely albums (especially the latter, Sciubba's voice is incredible).

Agree on Taylor sounding very similar to Knopfler - must be something of the era as his first album was in '71, Dire Straits' first was in '76...

A couple of further recommendations for the genre if it's your thing, check out Ulli Bögershausen and Peter Ratzenbeck (also RTL3 which is Ratzenbeck with Hans Theessink and Michael Langer).

I also use the MTV live version of 'Nutshell' by Alice in Chains. I like the way it builds but each element is still distinctive, the bass line is amazing and it actually sounds like you are there
I use that too, incredible sound. The James Blake song mentioned above is one I hadn't tried,so I just had a go with it,incredible low end,dog hid under the stairs and a load of stuff fell off the dresser in the room above! hehe

By the way I wasn't advocating using the YouTube videos as actual test sources... It mangles the audio something chronic! Was really to give people a flavour of the music and you can hear the production is good even on a relatively poor source.

Yep,I tried it via YouTube and it was cack so put it through Deezer for a slightly better result! I'm cd/vinyl through and through so any streaming sounds rubbish to my ears.

Agreed. Have you listened to Sabina's solo album Toujours? My favourite album at the moment.
