Another nice option smile I've got used to open top motoring in my last car (VX220) and think a T would be nice but given how few of them are about I'm not going to hold out specifically for one, although if one came up for sale at a price that was right.... smile
there is one at str8six(chameleon green?)
price is 34k!!, lovely car and a much cheaper than a Sag

I spotted that one. Looks nice but would prefer to keep south of £30k if I can. Not sure how successful I'll be at that though...

Lovely!! If the madness re-asserts itself and you decide to sell let me know smile
With all the money I have spent on it and a list as long as your arm, I could be persuaded at £36k and she is yours and you get T350 with 414BHP and 368lb/ft of torque smile

No worries.

I have a Grigio Titanio targa and was heading back from France that evening. A friend of a friend 'spotted' me but the timings didn't match up... so my only conclusion is it must have been someone else in an identical car!

The mystery continues...

Hi Ian, I am charlie from the FB page! Not much to add as everyone has made some great points and there are a few good looking cars out there at the moment.

Mine is a Str8six car and although it seems like you are spending more you do get quite a lot of reassurance for that (not saying things never go wrong) but when buying from them you know the following

- They only sell cars they have bought, therefore you know jason will have inspected the car thoroughly before parting with his own cash! They don't sell on behalf of customers or anything like that. For me this meant I knew they wouldn't buy anything with any major issues. They also resolve any issues prior to any hand over. Jason and Chas were very open about the minor issues the car had when I bought it and sorted them before the hand over

- You also get a fresh 12k Mile service (this costs £800 in itself!)

- 12 Month parts and labour warranty ( i think with most cars 12 months should be enough to iron out and serious issues and get any little niggles sorted)

- Plus the 12 months tax, although one of TVRs querks is that tax is only £260 or something anyways! Still all adds up smile

I have had a few niggles fixed under warranty while having a few upgrades done and they dealt with an issue with the clutch. No quibbles, no sending off to policy underwriters or that kind of bull!

Whatever you find you will love it, I would recommend the T350T but for me it had to have some form of top off ability as to me personally that is very important. But they are rarer and ergo more expensive...

Also don't be too fussy with the colour and interior combinations. Especially based on pictures as you can never really tell unless you are looking in the flesh. I wasn't particularly looking for blue T350 or a light interior but when I saw it in the flesh I was smitten! cloud9

I was in Alexanders at Boroghbridge dropping the Vantage off for some warranty work and was very surprised they still had this very nice T350 in :-

They've had it for circa 8 weeks and it does look very good value.

Thanks for all the input everybody (and Charlie for letting me have a nose round his car the other day). I've hopefully struck lucky and found a 54 plate halcyon Midas pearl number for sale privately which I should be picking up next weekend! A much shorter search than I was anticipating but it looked to be in such good condition it seemed a shame to pass it up smile

Well done finding a car to your liking in such amount of time!
I really searched for some time until a car to my tastes came up.

You can work on pretty much everything on the car by yourself, especially the mechanics. You'll need a few axle stands, better a small scissor lift. We've worked on the power train before, changed the clutch just this year. So, no magic involved there especially if you have knowledge from working on your previous cars.

Good stuff, thanks. I think service related stuff I'll probably leave as it seems pretty essential to maintain a record of services from recognised garages but other stuff it's good to know I can have a go at fixing first. Although that inevitably leads down the modification route.......better not tell the wife biggrin

No problem showing you round my T350T, hope it helped to cement your decision on the lovely one you have put a deposit down on! Have you got a collection day yet? I remember I had to wait a couple of weeks for Str8six to fully prep the car for hand over and it felt like forever.... Was so excited smile

If you are planning on doing little jobs yourself you might want to try and get a copy of Graham Varley's Sagaris Bible/workshop manual. One currently on ebay. They are rare so go for quite high prices (anywhere between £80 and most I saw was £320!) but it is very very good.
