I rarely hear his awful show on Radio 2 (fairly awful station too), but whenever I do can hardly believe how terrible he/it actually is. It is excruciating to listen to.

It sounded to me as if his pseudo-sycophantic sidekicks don't even enjoy it much theses days either. It is quite sad/depressing.

It can't be the case that there are many people who genuinely like his show or that the Radio 2 managers think that he is doing a good job

Whilst I'm no fan of Steve Wright, all the time Jeremy Vine has a show on R2, that will continue to be my main source irritation. And by irritation, I mean making me want to rip my own ears off.

Can't stand R2 after mid day, all dreadful. I wish they would put Richard Allinson on instead of Steve Wright. Christ, even Marcel Marceau would be better.

After Chris Evans, Steve is my favourite show of the day and IMO he plays some of the best music on R2.

Seriously? If I recall correctly, he also has an awful show at the weekend.

Try listening to Radcliffe and Maconie on 6Music (1-4pm) instead, there really is no comparison.

Can't stand him, or Jeremy Vine. The sooner he stops the better. But we don't have R2 on at work so that's a win. Evans in the morning and Mayo going home are fine.

st, is that the only choice? Pass the revolver.

(Q: You're stranded on a lifeboat with Moyles, Wright, food and water for two and a gun with one bullet. Who do you shoot? A: Yourself)

Chris Evans and Steve Wright are totally devoid of any personality, they really do take boring to a new level, only the BBC would employ these voices over dweebs,

Yes, seriously but I don't listen to his weekend show (I don't listen to the radio at weekends). I find Maconie as irritating as some of you find Wright. Mark and Lard were epic though.

Ken Bruce does often pull some decidedly odd stuff out, which is nice for 11am on a weekday. I keep turning the radio in the office over to 6 music in the hope that nobody will notice. It's not worked yet. frown

On the rare occasions I get to listen to the radio these days it's usually R2 until 1200, R4 for an hour, over to 6Music (if DAB is available) and then back to R4.

Vine makes my teeth itch and Wright's show is only worth listening to when he's on holiday. Chris Tarrant did an excellent job standing in for him a few years back.

Distinct odor of fish coming from the radio!

Tarrant is quite possibly the worst presenter ever put on radio 2, and that's allowing for stiff competition in the form of Jeremy Vine, Dermot O'Leary and Graham Norton. Norton's show was SO much better when Craig Charles stood in for a few weeks.

It was more the continual taking the piss out of Wright and playing plenty of 70's and 80's rock that got me on side. Plenty of better presenters out there but it shows how bad Radio 2 is in the afternoon when even Tarrant is an improvement!

Steve Wright is awful. Why he 'sings' the last line of every song I'll never understand. fk your factoids and your 'loving the show Steve' bks.

I quite like Mayo at 5 and Ken in the mornings. But tbh anything's better than Scottish radio. Clyde? I'd rather drive my car into it than listen to it. And Radio Scotland is what I imagine an independent Scotland to be like, all crap local presenters and ceilidh music. fk that.
