Just an update, the young girl (6) and her mum have been discharged from ITU (although presumably still receiving treatment)
Hoping there are no slip ups from the hospital and all involved make a speedy recovery.

Brilliant news, and an absolute miracle based on the footage.Hoping there are no slip ups from the hospital and all involved make a speedy recovery.

It did make me laugh reading the comments to that story.. There's an argument going on whether it was god, the medical staff or God and the medical staff that have done a great job with the patients.
See, it's not just PH where it all goes Pete Tong!

Just spoken to a friend who's out in Malta on business, it seems the locals are none to please - he's spoken to a few people about it to gauge public opinion and it seems to be a lot of judgemental people there who didn't go to the event.
Another said it was great that money was being raised for charity however it was awful and they should never race again (according to two different taxi drivers) it would appear some locals are much more positive also that its a tragic accident and their hospital is doing really well!
Even over there it seems to be a real mix of opinions - no different to piston heads I guess, but great that people are slowly on the improvement. I just hope its only positive news from now on. And that Paul gets back up from this tragic incident and still carries on with the charity work, tracking his cars, racing etc.

Good news about the people getting better.I think the driver will have a lot of thoughts to work through so maybe this will be the end of it. As always it would be good to turn the clock back if everyone could.

Yep! but at least they have started their inquiries into it.
And that video has been taken down. I someone didn't get the memo.

Well not sure if this the place to post it. But I guess this is the next event! I'm sure there will another thread just for this as Clarkson and co have done this too for their new amazon show.
Which video is that taken from ? I know marque1 and SCD had all three at silverstone recently with a BTCC Driver and a variety of timing gear graeme4130 said:

I made another thread for the video. But has since been taken down. Have put some more stats from it. And is was on The Super Car Driver (you tube channel) Which I think is Paul Bailey's channel or has a stake in it.Also Chris Harris just posted a teaser! another one...

Yup seen the video, the P1 WON around Silverstone but there wasn't much in it. Personally always Preferred the Mclaren P1 - its booty is just so cool. LaF sounds the best though. But 918 seems to be the best engineered (although a few seemed to have been written off)Also Chris Harris just posted a teaser! another one...

I don't know him so not going to judge him. But giving passenger rides in your supercar is not really charity. Yes it might raise money but it is partly if not wholly about showing off / having an excuse to take out your supercar. Volunteering at your local Oxfam shop or helping at a soup kitchen are rather more worthy of praise. That isn't having a go at Bailey - I just think that it is also not something to praise him with.
Although the papers haven't picked up on it yet, I would be surprised if there were not forthcoming articles about the "safety" of the 918 just like the slew of articles about the safety or not of the a Carerra GT following the death of Paul Walker. No doubt the ignorant and the car haters will use this crash as another excuse to bash super cars in general.
Really? So helping out at a soup kitchen prob attended mostly by alcoholics and drug addicts (who clearly need help of some sort) is more charitable than Paul Bailey shipping 4 cars to Malta and raising 1000's for their charity or all the people who not only drive but help organize the Dunsfold Supercar Weekend and raised well over 100K for a children's charity? Of course tyres and fuel etc cost nothing!!!! Mate you are one prize bell end.Although the papers haven't picked up on it yet, I would be surprised if there were not forthcoming articles about the "safety" of the 918 just like the slew of articles about the safety or not of the a Carerra GT following the death of Paul Walker. Is there been any updates on this now a month n ?
I assume PB's recovered and back home now and the 918's either being written off or repaired?
Ill enquire and get back to you, unfortunately due to legal proceedings as you can imagine Im not sure as yet what Ill be able to disclose. I know he's had to nip back once or twice for things so far.I assume PB's recovered and back home now and the 918's either being written off or repaired?
