650S v 488GTB will be interesting.

Ferrari and McLaren are behaving like Audi/BMW/Mercedes and how Subaru and Mitsubishi did.

Porsche is being left behind, at least on the bhp, 0-125mph front. They need to make a Turbo SS

Credit where it is due...that 650S is way faster, and it should be considering the power advantage it has over the 458. But surely McLaren should be praised for offering a car with nearly 80 bhp more power than its closest competitor - and charging the same for it.

Keep it up LamboRambo...you may convince me into one of these..clap

Way behind?
Would you like to bet a breakfast at Bicknacre on that young man?

I some how doubt it will whop it but its surely got to be able to keep up as the latest incarnation.
Not sure how this reduced torque output effects the 488 performance lower down but it sure isn't going to help other than reducing the feel of lag and kick in the back

The 458 should not be that far behind the 458. Is it getting some wheel spin ? Or may be one on Corsa tyres and the other regular tires ?

That's what it should look like: https://youtu.be/9jIqsuPeqgQ

Difficult to take internet specs at their word but on paper they look about even on a point and squirt, a tenth here or a tenth there.

The only laptime I can find that they share is on the Vairano Handling Course, 650S comes in a couple of seconds quicker.

All very scientific of course!

I'm not sure where you are getting your figures from or if it is wishful thinking or it because you own a F12 but its in black & white that an F12 has no chance.

I will go one further and stick my neck out and state that I think the 488 will struggle to beat the 650, let alone the 675LT.

Im not that fussed if the f12 loses the bragging rights on 0-60mph. I imagine front engine and rear drive it will be later on 3rd gear it pulls back.

Anyway - one of these cars makes an incredible noise and the other makes a very poor and dull sound. Frankly when spending this amount of money I would not have a car that doesn't excite the hairs on my back. Im not a fan of the 458 noise massively either but it still sounds better than the 650 s - fact!

The 650S/675LT, 488GTB and F12 must all be very close. We need to chuck in the Huracan as well which although a bit down on power would have traction advantages and finally a quick box. Runway shootout needed, maybe motortrend will do it.

Got to say I prefer the screamer or the woofler, so neither 488/650s really does it aurally compared to the F12 or Huracan.

Still all fantastic cars though, would have any of them over my Yaris wink

Wishful thinking... More power does not (always) mean a faster car !

Again, I think you should look at the facts before assuming that the F12 could pull it back in 3rd gear, according to Ferrari the F12 can do quarter mile in 11 secs dead, that's nearly half a second behind the 650s. To answer your second quote, anyone who is prepared to spend 100's of millions can make a car sound good, a (manufactured sound) it's a well known fact that Ferrari & Lamborghini do spend ridiculous amounts of money producing the sounds, as for a 650s sounding dull, that's all to do with the engine having a flat plane crank, listen to a Yamaha R1, it's the same sound, and you can hear a Mclaren over 1/2 mile away so not too sure about it sounding dull, maybe isn't trying to say "look at me" like some other cars do.
