I'm glad yet disappointed that Glenn is alive, already been said but it was a cop out, there were many ways they could have written that without it being certain death and a close escape cliffhanger.

I am still interested in the show, but I'm more interested in how they'll tackle comic book storylines in the show and how they differ than being invested in the show itself I think. I'm always thinking ah, that was cool and similar to the comics or wow, that's different or not even part of the comics. There is some disappointment with that and some good comes of the show's differences.

The one thing this series is the pacing again, but I suppose that's in the budget with how far they can go. How much time did they waste having Glenn say "Enid?" The herd has been in there since the start of Ep.1 and we still haven't actually seen it being tackled and we know the mid season next week will only be the half of it.

A little thing that annoyed me was how Enid just opened the door of the store and stuck her face out without lifting the blind and checking first.

Amateur error for someone who is apparently capable of sneaking around surviving on her own laugh

Bah. This season so started well, and now it's gone all rubbish again.
Fear not, there's only 1 or maybe 2 episodes before mid-series break - there will be an explosive episode followed by a cliff hanger - there always is!

Well that's what got me all excited about the end of the last season. The season was utter rubbish until the last few eps when they actually followed the comic book plot and it all got exciting. I was really looking forward to this season developing into what it should be if you know the story line. However much like the comment above about only watching the final 30s of each episode, I suspect that is equally applicable to the season as a whole, so we may get something remotely exciting in the final 30 mins of the season finale.

I am however taking some solace from the fact that Carl is looking remarkably like the comic book character, so there is hope yet....whistle

To be honest this series is a lot like the comics but they're going over the soap opera side a bit much to pad out some episodes ready for the mid season.

It will be carnage next week, instead of going onto a roof with all the guns then picking them off they will hide in cupboards and such before fleeing Alexandria. I wonder if the wolves will take over Alexandria when they are gone, resulting in another fight scene.
They will hide in the houses until the rest of the mob come back just in time to sound horns and draw the zombies away. Hurrah

Although that thing crashing will pose a serious obstacle that we have seen they can't get over very well just stand there and kill them one at a time.

When Rick mentioned about having food and water and being able to plan, I thought "bloody hell, no" expecting a long drawn out ep next week of trying to lure the walkers away...again.

Glen's escape was as daft as could be expected, that girl is annoying, and during the scenes before the tower came down, I was expecting to hear a gunshot ring out.

The guy in the hospital bed probably has the easiest job on the set.

He'll probably sleep through the whole thing. Wake up a few hours later, wonder outside, see dozens of bodies all over the floor, blood, smoke, bullet casings etc. Then go and hang up a 'prayer circle' flyer.

So who reckons any of the "main" characters might pop their clogs next week?

I do, but then it's only a mid-season finale, not a season finale, so they might inply someone getting popped rather than outright killing them.

Or they will kill someone and 'maybe' kill a second, who will then survive.

Am I right in thinking that it's not that large a section of the wall that's came down? Say what ... 6-7m wide?

Surely if they weren't all dumb someone cold quickly rally that truck or bus they had to block off half of that, funneling them into a 3m gap.

Then they could work in teams rotating to avoid fatigue - ideally with leather arms and long spears. Could even put a load of kids on the bus and have them stab out the window.

I'm still wondering why they built the wall in a way that didn't include such a useful lookout tower inside it and why, had this structure been deemed of no use, didn't they pull it down to use for building materials.

Having said this I'm at a point where all the humans could die now and I wouldn't be too bothered. I'd still watch and complain that the day in the life of walker #253 episode could have been better though.

Contingency doesn't really seem to be something they have any of, just lots of complacency.

Incompetence certainly seems to play a huge part in this series...

The thing that amuses me is when viewers see the incompetence and declare the show unrealistic because they clearly wouldn't have made such a stupid mistake. As if the real world isn't stuffed full of people who make stupid mistakes.

Perhaps, but to pick just one example - and in fairness, it applies to a lot of shows and movies. When hot wiring a car when the hoards are nearby, would you really leave your legs sticking out of the door while you try to start the car, or would you naturally ensure the door was closed and locked, and the windows were up beforehand?

Cheapens the show and the veiwing experience. Take this away and take away the rinse and repseat storylines, it would probably be an all-time classic. AMC don't care; they are still getting incredibly high viewing figures for a cable show based off this formula. Shame really.
