You are most definitely trolling. That is a customer car. Some of the dealers have yet to actually receive their demonsrators, they will also have to keep them for a specific period as determined by Mclaren. The car belongs to either a speculator, a financially distressed customer, or the customer has changed their mind but was unable to cancel.
Pretty sure that car is Mclaren Manchester's demo car.

I was going to add to my earlier post something like the above, fairly sure they are not allowed to sell even if they wanted too, would make a complete mockery of the whole thing.

Really hope so as well but... at risk of feeding TP321 further I recall back in early April 650 demo cars were starting to be listed for sale already so it is not at all impossible history repeats itself.....banghead

This is Mclaren Manchesters own car and bears the reg MCL 1

It's for sale at £175k. As soon as it is sold it will replaced with another. Anyway, makes their 650s Spiders look like good value. Good luck 570s buyers....

TP321. you do not appear to have initiated a topic, but ambush topics with only negative comments. What cars do you own or aspire to? What criteria do you value most when judging a car? You seem to have more of a Bias Blind Spot than most of us on here.
Well if you insist Baypond...I only tell it as it is. If people wish to believe that the 570 is the best thing since sliced bread, then the old saying "a fool and his money are easily parted"! I have heard of 570s specced to £160-£170k - are they mad?? This is supposed to be the cheap McLaren - the Peoples McLaren. The 12C was listed at £169k in 2012. Nearly new Huracans are available for £175k - V10 normally aspirated, a noise to die for, and drop gorgeous looks. People have the wrong priorities when buying road cars - lap times don't matter - you don't have the balls or the skill to have it going sideways..(yes that carbon tub will mean nothing to you mate biggrin). Its just a A-B machine which after a few years you will get bored and want to move it on for another.

And here lies the problem....you wont be able to because no one will bid you anything for it. Even Webuyanycar wont take it off you - go on, go on their site and see if you can get a quote as you can with Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche, ...They will buy a TVR or a SSANGYONG (FFS) but not touch a McLaren....I wonder why that is?

I want to buy a car, drive and enjoy it, and after a year or two, i want to move on. Happy to lose £15-25K, but not £50k..

Thanks for taking the time to answer NONE of my questions. You must feel quite inadequate.

TP321, ok I am a saddo. I went back through most of your posts. Not one constructive comment amongst them.
I wish you all the happiness, but I promise you will not find it in the denigration of others. It is a bitter path and will keep you lonely.
Good luck and I hope you find happiness one day😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎

If TP is correct in his depreciation prediction then I for one would jump at a sub 100k 540c wink

If a 12C which started life 3 years ago with a specced price of £200k can be bought today for £100k, £100k for a 540C sounds way too high....£80k is my guess.

There's 2-3 2011 12c's on PH close to £100k, high miles, non official dealers. The decent ones seems to be £120k plus, you pay your money, take your choice. Cars all depreciate... the idea is to enjoy them!

The latest addition of CAR magazine is out with a comparison test between the 570S and the Porsche Turbo S by Chris Chilton. I quote:

"The rarity alone ensures the McLaren feels like the more special car. But so does the way it drives, and that must be the deciding character in a test like this. It steers so much better, accelerates that bit harder. It just puts a bigger grin on your face more of the time, and makes the Porsche feel, well, a little bit ordinary."

So that’s another test where the 570S comes out on top.

One of the very interesting stats that comes out of the article is the 0 – 124mph times

570s - 9.5 secs
Huracan – 9.9 secs
Turbo S – 10.3 secs

I believe the only things that could deter some buyers is:
Lack Of 4 seats,
Lack of AWD
Quite showy/in your face in comparison to a porsche.

Id still have the 570 over an F type R, AMG GTS, Vantage, turbo s and i8 smile

I have just read the Autocar group test where they compared the 570S, Porsche Turbo S, Aston Martin Vantage S and the new R8. The 570S again won this test which appears to be a bit of a trend at the moment.

So it appears McLaren have pulled out a bit of a blinder here with Autocar stating that they have created a “giant slayer” that actually challenges the next rung up of supercars.

I think I better get an order in…….I wishfrown

Find it very hard to believe that sensible people actually think these so called magazine tests are actually in any way relevant to the actual ownership experience of the cars involved.....

This is a review thread, I was just quoting the Autocar review.

As for relevance, if a number of people all say the same thing then maybe, just maybe they could be right. But ultimately it’s down to the feeling in you bum as to which car you finally put a deposit down on

For cars of this calibre I find it hard to believe sensible people think they can assess the cars in any other manner than reading (hopefully informed) opinion!

These cars can't be evaluated in depth on public roads.

....but the 570s is more expensive than all of those!

And anyone who has run supercars on a daily basis will tell you that it will be the least practical and most awkward car to use as a DD from that list.

No supercar can be regarded as the “practical” option. It practicality is near the top of your list of priorities then I would respectfully suggest that you are looking in the wrong sector.

Comparing like with like the 570S has one of the largest boots in its sector plus a number of cubby holes and a large rear parcel shelf behind the seats. It also has the best driving position, best vison out plus has the best passive safety with its carbon tub. In addition it is over 200kg lighter than its nearest rival and actually faster than a Huracan that sits in the sector above it.

Base cost prices are all within a few thousand pounds of each other which at this price point is very unlikely to influence a buying decision especially as cars at this price point are likely to be bought on finance. Plus as pointed out earlier the 570S is actually a lot cheaper to finance than say the Porsche Turbo S

I'd stop wasting your time Streetrod.

As the saying goes, "haters gotta hate".

He'd be unhappy if he wasn't being unhappy with McLaren wobble

Is a 570s actually cheaper than a 911 Turbo on finance? Are you looking at PCP finance where the actual final value is guaranteed, or just a deferred final payment where the finance company can give any figure as a final payment - usually to get the monthly payments to where they need to be!
