Test drove an mc shift and can't see what the problem is. Traffic and slow moving traffic was ok and gear change although not smooth was ok. Couldn't drive it hard as was raining hard. Liked it
Good, aren't they In the dry even sharper, and whilst the auto is good for an auto, it's not as good as the MC Shift IMO.Murph7355 said:

Very good indeed .. decided on one and the fact that I want an MC shift. Noticed there is a 4 seater stradale in Romans which looks very appealing. I like the idea of getting a top of the range model but actually prefer the lines of the S. Jonny TVR said:

Saw that one too and it looks good value (or did - has the price just jumped 7k? Edited to add...it must have ben the black one I was thinking of at sub-90k...)...but white...hmmmm.And like you, I think the std car looks better - though I prefer the Sport. The sides and rear of the MC look clumsy to my eyes.
Sport v S....Have thought about this a lot. Some S's look great. Especially, IMO, with the carbon pack. But I didn't think the seats were as comfy, and the engine lacks 20bhp. Other detail differences are pushing me to a Sport. Which is a pisser as there are very few MC Shift Sports around.

By S do you mean stradale? It was the one in Romans at 90k. I think for me its got to be an MC shift sport. Not sure on colour. Apparently silver is a no no, white I'm not sure, sometimes looks good but never had a white car, red looks good but its a bit Ferrari?! and not understated as a Maserati may be should be, black is very common, I think I like the blue. Decisions decisions. And like you, I think the std car looks better - though I prefer the Sport. The sides and rear of the MC look clumsy to my eyes.

Think Romans have two Strads now, really like the grey colour in the flesh .
It does look good .. did they change to 4 seats from 2013? had to be four seats for meJonny TVR said:

No....I think the models went - 4.2 (400bhp. Cheapest cars generally. I'm avoiding but no doubt fine. I've seen a couple of very late 4.2s (2013 I think!) So think they made them as a base model throughout)
- 4.7 S (440bhp - I think these came in about 2008 to 2013)
- MC Stradale (2 seat. 460bhp. I think these were 2011 to 2012/13)
- 4.7 Sport (460bhp. Different nose. Interior tweaks including better (IMO) seats. Late 2012 to present)
- MC Stradale (4 seat. 460bhp. 2013/14 to present)
Silver's meant to be bad for resale, but I think it really suits the car, especially with darker wheels.
Like you I've never owned a white car, but white with carbon pack look quite good. I'd be a bit concerned that it will date badly though. And whilst I'm from Sheffield, I don't want to look all Peter Stringfellow.
Blues I'm unsure on. Oceano (darker) is the nicest IMO, but rare. Sophisticato is the lighter metallic. You see a lot of these for sale. Looks good in some photos, not so good in others.
Grigio Alfieri is like a gunmetal grey. Looks really nice. Possibly looks better on the older cars (S etc).
Grigio Granito is very dark grey. Looks good.
Black, like you say, are more common. But they look great in the metal. I swore off black cars as they're a nightmare to keep clean. But there are so few cars in the country with the rest of the spec I want that I suspect beggars can't be choosers (e.g. I think there are only 40-50 MC Shift Sports in the country...)
Reds...there are a couple of choices I think. Not sure if I like it or not. I think I do....only problem is my Mrs hates red cars (other than Ferraris). Apparently they're not classy.
Wheels also come in a few styles - Neptunes look best IMO. Astros the worst and seem to be common on Sport models!
Carbon pack is a great add on IMO, both inside and out. Makes the outside look more aggressive, and it's nicely done on the inside.
My budget keeps creeping upwards at the moment, but I don't see me going as far as a Strad'. I don't think they look as nice, I don't need the extra sharpness (it's a big car so will always be compromised) and I still think these will depreciate nicely - all of them really. So one thought is to wait until next spring and see what's about then (it'll be a summer car for me now).
Car magazine have also noted Maserati will be updating the model again soon - aesthetic tweaks and updated electronics. The replacement is delayed to 2019-2020. Suspect this might help residuals, but in the short term Sports etc could take a knock....
Decisions, decisions.

How about just a plain, resale red Daytona - 4.2 (400bhp. Cheapest cars generally. I'm avoiding but no doubt fine. I've seen a couple of very late 4.2s (2013 I think!) So think they made them as a base model throughout)

I've got a Blu Oceano with Tridents so partially like what you say! Agree on the Astro's but they are the Sport default wheel.- 4.2 (400bhp. Cheapest cars generally. I'm avoiding but no doubt fine. I read the Car Mag update too. It will be interesting to see what they do and how much of the dash they rip out to put a bigger screen in. Regarding looks, I like the front end on the Strad and the GT/GTS but have never liked the GT Sport nose. Wonder what will happen here? Maserati's, Like Aston's, are largely dateless cars so long product life cycles don't bother me.

In many ways that was also a choice born of lack of choice
Anyway, I don't like to talk about resale of that particular car
When a stereo was the only optional extra just the car itself was exciting and dangerous.Anyway, I don't like to talk about resale of that particular car
I think that particular car would resale quite nicely now
