Try Edition38, Wheelwes etc. - Pistonheads isn't normally the number one location for show cars wink

Why reply like that? If that is what the OP wants then good luck to him. He only asked for advice and if his profile is true he has a rather nice car compared to a lot of other censored on this forum

Very true Andy...I just ignored him.

Back in the day I had a golf mk3 gti highline... I have a Porsche 911 gen 2 now, but theres something magical about reliving the good old days....I just don't have the time to mess about too much so wanted to buy one already done.... It's just a question of finding a tasteful one wink cheers

I'm not a fan of cars that low, but I'm strangely drawn to that - I like the Vento headlights, but the two photos show two different front ends...

Do, because it's not just the headlights and grill, it's the bonnet too...

Worth noting on that Golf that the wheel/tyre combo is beyond the ETRTO limits for stretch. Should be no more than a 7.5" rim width for those tyre sizes.

It's definitely a 'show' car - I wouldn't volunteer to drive it anywhere but you pays your money you takes your choice.

Making old Golfs borderline undrivable is entirely socially acceptable.

A couple of months ago I bought for £1500 an almost perfect 98 VR6 5 door. The same amount again in that would almost certainly have made it plenty low enough even without doing any work yourself.

The best part of £6k I'd struggle with regardless of how much work was in it.

To get a car to that spec you would easily spend £4K or more, so in that respect to the right person the car isn't overly expensive. Also one would hope that any remedial work to body work would have been carried out prior to the re-spray so there should be no issues for a good number of years.

Oh, easily; it's a small marketplace that I guess would be hard for a relative 'outsider' to appreciate the ins and outs of.

Usual PH. Thread derailed by some dhead who has to have his say. The OP didn't ask for an opinion, so why feel compelled to give one?

Short on fire wood then? wink

Yes harsh, but anything 'stanced' deserves it.

Mention away, but all you're doing is dragging this place down. Ask about stanced Golfs in General Gassing and I'd probably agree that you're fair game, but this is the VAG forum and the guy is asking a simple question. Your opinion is unhelpful and not wanted.
