It now seems to be Black Friday "week" with many deals already available.

So what are you tempted with?

I might be looking for new iPad (the current one was a Black Friday purchase from John Lewis. Only about £20 off but it all helps plus an extra years warranty)

Last year it was a One Plus One as you could buy without an invite

I'm sure I will be tempted into buying some stuff I don't really need

I've been planning on upgrading my TV, fancy a Sony Bravia 4K TV having looked around at specs and opinions.

See what's available on Friday.

A 980ti graphics card (or two). Not sure where would have the best deals involving need to get on them quick if there is any real discount. Plus need to get water cooling block(s) for it/them.

Any suggestions where to monitor for them appearing cheap on Friday?

Well in the morning, I think I'll but a bacon sarnie. In the evening, a few pints.

I'm after a laptop. I'm in mexico currently so may miss all the deals. I'll have a browser after dinner or midnight home time but not going nuts.

Nothing at all, on principle. It's a Yank idea that should have stayed over there.

Just bought some shoes from Amazon.

They might or might not have WiFi built in just to keep it safe in this section and stop a poor mod having a meltdown wink

Bugger all. It's tedious marketing hype over nothing.

You might be disappointed this year since Asda announced they weren't doing Black Friday.

I've been keeping an eye on Amazon, but despite it being their "largest ever Black Friday deals week", it's a far larger collection of discounted tat than I was aware they sold. Previous years a lot of their deals sold out almost immediately - this year most are timing out with well under 50% of stock sold.

I don't bother with the sales, but I am hoping this becomes a tradition, the scrum in the aisles over tat that they all intend to fire off to eBay. One store down means more intense stupidity at the others.

I have been having a sneaky look on Amazon as well but it looks like the crud they could not shift all year and need the rack space. Plus the hooks they put in for Amazon Prime. I use Amazon now only when I cannot get it else where.

Keeping an eye on Roomba prices...

For those unaware of it, if you're after a particular item from Amazon, track it on http://uk.camelcamelcamel.com/ which will send you an e-mail when it drops below your threshold price

This and this a thousand times. I despise the adoption of this American "tradition".

They don't have any in stock according to that link? Except for that one model that looks a few years old?

Also, I agree with the earlier poster who said Amazon were offloading tat, I took a look this morning and it resembled an online Poundland; crap as far as the eye could see

Quite keen for a Sonos Soundbar but not sure if that sort of item is likely to be discounted anywhere?

Nothing at all. It's just like any other sale shops put on to get rid of excess stock, old models and items that don't sell well.

I mean who would buy a Polaroid TV on a normal day? If however it's put on 'offer' and the press make such a big deal then suddenly people fight for it!

As has been stated, it's marketing hype to drag people into stores when they might not normally go in.

I don't want or need anything so I won't be buying anything, same as any other day.
