They have been great until the last 6 months, then its taken 2-3 days for some items to be delivered.

As an Amazon user for over a decade and Prime user of over 2 years, I've only once had an issue.

I ordered a game, meant to arrive next day so (for some reason) they sent me another copy which arrived the day after - along with the original copy. I then sent it back for a refund getting myself a free copy!
Which makes you a crook.

I can't argue with that!

I did wait for them to claim it back before I opened it though, if that makes a difference!

Amazon prime is an incredible service IMO, next day delivery without fail for me so far after I think 3 years of use. Now combined with a Doddle account and getting delivery next to my commuting station means I get everything without fuss.

For me it's one of life's little pleasures and means I get to avoid having to go into town shopping for anything other than clothes

Ordered stuff in the early evening (you get a countdown on prime items it seems..."order in the next 32 minutes and get it tomorrow"), and it's never failed me yet.

Ordered loads off Amazon in favour of e-bay.

Added bonus is the telly drama I can also access.

Another fan of Prime here, generally items do arrive when they say they will.

A couple of times in the past week I've ordered times in the morning, which have been delivered that evening. The speed is just astonishing (and I'm not even in London).

My wife has a prime account in order to get the TV stuff, but thought the free next day delivery would be a bonus. I have a normal Amazon account and last year we both ordered a few things from the Black Friday deals. Some of mine turned up before hers, even though I used the free standard shipping. She bought a PS4 for my birthday/Christmas, which should have arrived the next day, but took 5 days. The problem with that was we knew it was with Yodel and thought we'd probably never see it. She's not bothered about the lack of next day deliveries in most cases, as she wanted the TV, but advertising something that doesn't seem to happen is a bit off.
You do know that if you're wife has Prime, that she can add you to her Prime account and that you can use it as well?

Thanks for that, but will keep it separate I think as I buy a lot of presents (including hers) via Amazon

She adds your email address to the Prime account (up to 4 people at the same address I seem to recall).

Your account and purchases remain completely separate to hers. You login to your account as usual - the benefit being you get the Prime delivery.

Yes every time just oh the package has been lost that was the first one next was we deliver till 9pm my reply not to business premesis you don't and oh I've actually seen the delivery guy as he dropped others people's deliveries off, today's aparantly it's gone to the wrong delivery centre or something. All they say is sorry and order it again and have a month free
From personal experience and reading the other replies on this thread, remind me never to get on a plane or train with you because you are one unlucky bloke!

Hopefully you have used up all your bad experiences right at the start.

I still have a brand new iPhone 6 sitting in my desk drawer that was delivered by accident (should have been a 6 Plus). I might give it to my Mother-in-Law to keep her sweet hehe

Yep, this is exactly how it works - Your account is still your account and can't be viewed by anyone else, but you get the benefit of Prime...

Incidentally you can attach family members to your prime account, so you should be able to get prime through your wifes account.
Thanks for this, I didn't realize we could do that.

Another one for "not had a problem" crowd. We ordered stuff almost every other day in the summer and had the items being delivered quite late in the day and on Sundays. Order some stuff yesterday, delivered today.

Prime works superb when they use royal mail Tracked or Special delivery, when they use other couriers it is useless
I've only ever had trouble with Prime when the courier is Amazon Logistics, they currently have a 67% failure rate with me (and that's packages lost, not just not delivered on time).

I had a weird issue a couple of weeks ago where tracking showed the item had been delivered, but it hadn't. I expected Amazon to be suspicious but they apparently knew it hadn't been delivered.
