Cruise - my number one must have.

Auto wipers with dimming mirrors?

Why do you need Telephone module, why not just Mobile phone preparation?

I have that option in mine but I don't smoke, its so you dont get a recess in the centre console and you also get a extra 12v socket.

Agree about auto wipers - I took delivery of my BGTS this week and the auto wipers are brilliant as is the PDLS+

Cruise is useful too,

You will love the car - I can't get over how good it is even when taking it easy. When returning to it parked up I have to pinch myself as can hardly believe its mine!

I made this choice as well, as I was concerned about how the alcantra would wear.

I'd recommend the following:

Light design Package
GTS Interor Package
Digital Radio
ACC - Adaptive Cruise Control
X73 - Sports Chassis

I think Buckets have been dropped from the GTS now.

If you've not had auto wipers before, you'll miss them like I am currently. Guess I'll get used to it over time, but I've had it for 20+ years! Thought I'd miss dual climate too, but so far no issues. The TTS climate was rubbish, having to adjust it every trip, so maybe that's why?

However, I'm not missing the auto dimming rear mirrors from my TTS. I like the ability to manually dip the rear view mirror whilst the door mirrors remain normal. It means I can see more clearly when there's something behind me rather than all mirrors going dark.
Maybe you can switch auto dimming off, whilst keeping the auto wipe?

So, 50/50.

I have DAB, but it seems rather crap!

Drove an adaptive cruise car, but the owner warned against it. When he drove his wife's Range Rover, with normal cruise, he kept expecting it to slow him down and often had to brake suddenly to avoid running into the car in front!

PASM is sublime compared to the standard Cayman suspension. So glad I found a car with it (2.7 PDK). Haven't tried x73 so can't compare, but if you EVER want a bit of comfort keep the PASM.

The standard PASM is better than x73 for UK road use, comfortable and controlled in comfort with the option of firm if pressing on or for track.

I'd personally disagree as I found the PASM a lot more crashy than the X73 which was firm but a lot smoother in its damping operation. I done a through back to back test of PASM and X73 before committing with my order.

However, that is a personal preference thing.

Was PASM crashy in Sport mode? In Normal it is sublimely smooth compared to standard. In Sport there's no crashiness whatsoever either?

It was in both modes but it was more pronounced in Sports mode which is to be expected, as for me personally the X73 seems a half-way house between Sports and normal mode in terms of suspension firmness but the damping was miles better. It just seem to ride the road a lot better and we tested it on the track and on the roads in and around Silverstone PEC.

However, one minor thing which I did find a small surprise when back to backing the suspension the PASM felt numb in comparison the X73 just felt more alive.

Keep the alcantara steering wheel. It looks better IMHO. I have the leather and it's my only regret.

I also don't have cruise, auto wipers or DAB so no TMS or five live extra :-(. Wierdly my Clio has them and I never use it anyway.

I do have BURMESTER (ace!), x73 (can't notice the difference except heavier steering feel), PCCB (can't notice the difference except the pretty yellow calipers).

Most importantly I have a manual and a very strong left leg now....

Just locked down my Spyder this afternoon and it was a close call between going for a GTS and a Spyder. The bits that I like about your spec that I can't get on the Spyder are the Carmine Red colour which I love and PDK box. I personally like the sports suspension although it's not everyones cup of tea. Mobile phone prep over phone module. Rain sensors and auto air con are also a must.

I'd echo DJMC's view - I'm a big fan of PASM and have never found it "crashy" in either mode. I live near Silverstone and my car sees most of the back roads in the area a lot. Regarding numb I'd accept that in normal the steering can feel a tad vague when you've been cruising. Damping softens off then and only tightens up again when you start pressing on. The solution is easy - use sport, it's perfectly comfortable unless the road is bad. The other difference is that X73 has a much stiffer rear anti roll bar and therefore understeers less. I've been considering fitting the X73 bar on mine (or the adjustable GT4 bar if it will fit) - it seems to be a common fitment in the States, but hardly anyone over here seems to consider it, despite the fact that it's a cheap option which practically anyone can fit themselves.

Andy, answer me this...

When I press my "Sport" button, but leave PASM in normal, I get the impression the suspension firms up a little. Am I imagining this, or does pressing "Sport" switch PASM into its own Sport mode too?

Maybe it's just that when in Sport mode I tend to be pressing on and PASM senses this, hence the firmness felt?

Is this query really addressed to Andy? It wouldn't surprise me if one of the "tests" that PASM software uses for sporty driving is selection of PDK sport mode - and as a software designer in the past it interests me - however I don't like and never use PDK Sport mode (I'd always be in manual instead) so I can't say.

I was wondering the same thing.
