My cabin bag has finally bitten the dust and I'm in need of a replacement one.

I'd like the largest I can realistically get that is light weight (so you can carry more stuff). 4 wheels so you can just drag it standing up as opposed to it leaning over.

I've found in the past that the expensive 'branded' ones seem to be quite heavy to justify the price tag!

Would appreciate recommendations smile

We both needed cabin bags quite quickly and not much research time, we went to an outlet in Spalding and found two bags, both 4 wheels and recently tried on a 3 week road trip. We are very pleased with them especially at the cost; both 'full' price tickets said £249.99 each, on sale at 69:99 with the cheapest free. So two perfectly acceptable bags for under£70, I wouldn't have paid full price though but they proved reliable and did exactly what we wanted. The brand was 'it' - information technology I think.

We've got an American Tourister cabin case and are very pleased with the size, weight and quality. Reasonably priced too.

The '4 wheels' thing doesn't really fit with the whole lightweight and capacity requirements.

If you can get past the wheels requirement, then check out Red Oxx bags, I've got one of their AirBoss models and it is superbly build, will probably outlast me, and seems to hold more than other bags with a much higher stated volume.

If you can do without wheels, B & M stores do a maximum carry on sized rucksack/cabin bag for a tenner that weighs very little.

I'd really like a 4 wheeler bag.

I understand that it's not going to be the lightest bag out there but it shouldn't weigh more than the contents could!!

Your right wanting 4 wheeler, very easy , especially pulling a larger case as well.
Are you far from Spalding? I'll nip over and check prices/ availability for you to save a wasted journey if you want me to.

Rimowa salsa air cabin multiwheel - 4 wheels and a weight of 4lb.
Also no embarrassment turning up to a meeting with it, as opposed to some cheap crap or a rucksack.

edit to add link: http://www.rimowa.com/en-us/salsa-air-ultralight-c...

I would recommend my Tumi one which is ultra lightweight, but it is two wheeled and discontinued. Can't go wrong with Rimowa though

Depends who you fly with but the cabin weights are dropping every year. Down to about 6kg on some airlines to stop the greedy people hogging all the space. I just take a rucksack.

I spend quite a bit of time in the air, I looked at a lot of different bags from TUMI, Samsonite, and everything in between. I finally chose the Antler, for a few reasons. I am very whimsical and could decide to change bag again next year so didn't want to spend 000's on something that will sit in the attic. It's got the 4 wheels, with great bearings, so it slides as easily on carpet as tiles. The adjustable trolley arm / handle is tall enough that I can fit my back pack over it, so therefore my 2 cabin bags on one trolley (I don't generally have check in). The colour sealed it, as I will easily spot it in the overheads, and people are less likely to make off with it, as it so easily recognisable. I've had it now for over 2 years, and it gets battered regularly, and still keeps going.

The only thing that I would like though would be a flap on the front that i could store my passport and other essentials, making the backpack redundent, and I believe there are some on the market now.

Thank you so much for the recommendation. A further 50% off everything so we bought 2 x cabin bags and 2 x big checkin bags for £130...

What could possibly go wrong!

ETA: This was the bag I bought: https://www.bagsetc.co.uk/item/it-luggage/cabin-52... - will report back on the quality etc
