Woman given card from "Overweight haters"

When I originally saw the story yesterday there wasn't a "police probe" but it angered me given that the woman in question isn't actually that fat. My GF is a size 12/14 depending on where she shops, and although I wouldn't normally play the internet hardman, if some chap handed her a card and I was around, well his day from thereon in would not be entirely pleasant...

Is that true that 12-14 is under the UK average?
Womens dress sizes are fairly arbitrary as far as I'm aware (I don't wear many unless they're made of human skin like in that film)... But the UK average BMI for the ladies is 27 - so that's a bit porky (yes yes we know BMI isn't an accurate representation of body fat or health, keep your hair on.)el stovey said:
I wonder what makes people insult random strangers like this?
I was out running the other night and some young chap driving past suggested I "run faster you lazy fking ".
I had some teenage girls shout at me "run fatboy run!" I replied "That is precisely why I am running!"I was out running the other night and some young chap driving past suggested I "run faster you lazy fking ".

Very rude going up to her and pointing it out like this, however she is pretty big, especially given it's taken at a flattering angle (up and slightly off to one side).
With obesity related illness then people need to start taking responsibility for their weight in this country. Walking down the highstreet does seem to show that as a nation we're getting fatter and fatter with no real sign of slowing down. If we're expected to pay for each others health, then I can see resentment towards those that really don't put anything towards it themselves.
BMI as an individual isn't great. but it is for the population as a whole. So unless you're a rugby player, exceptionally tall or exceptional short. You should be aiming for a number lower than 25.

Not sure the lady in the photo looks size 12 or 14 but either way, it's not a very nice thing for people to be doing.

No way on earth is she a size 12.Is that true that 12-14 is under the UK average?
Anyway not particularly nice and very rude but I think some are probably becoming irritated by the way we are supposed to celebrate fat women as "real" women.

Regardless of now nice it is to be dishing these out to woman who may not be that overweight, since when did it become a police-involvable offence to give someone a card saying "you're fat"? Are people really that much of a bunch of self-victimising crybabies these days?
since at least 1994, when the Public Order Act was amended .. S4A:"A person is guilty of an offence if, with intent to cause a person harassment, alarm or distress, he: ... (b) displays any writing, sign or other visible representation which is threatening, abusive or insulting ... thereby causing that or another person harassment, alarm or distress."
