Hi guys, as you know my TVR S1 is at specialist up coventry (nearly done now rolleyes) he just called me & said i have a split in a 'airflow meter cap' ive looked it up on the alternate parts list, but cannot seem to locate a replacement or they look nothing like the one i have on currently? Does anyone know where i could possibly get hold of one or even better have a spare i could buy. Thanks in advance.

I've got a funny feeling its not the actual housing but the 'right angle' so & so he mentioned with a split in
I'd have thought it far more likely, but not impossible, that it was the 27+ years old rubber part that had split/cracked/perished?

If it is just that elbow (plastic?) a repair to at least get the car running and confirm no further issues wouldn't be too difficult, replacing it when one can be sourced.

Cheers, got him to repair it untill i can locate one. Just been up to Coventry to talk to him, it was the actual housing, there was a split along the front.

Similar, but mine hasn't got the 'criss cross' pattern on, I just gave tvr-parts a call up to see if they have one

God knows how mine has a split in it, a repair will do for now but its not long term.
Hopefully 'tvr-parts' will get back to me with one

ISTR that it's a Capri 280 part.
Maybe try Retroford or Tickover?

There's a 2.8 in a scrap yard near me,
I've had parts from it over the years,
I'll phone them tomorrow and let you know

Hi Steve, just noticed you said yours doesnt have the criss cross pattern on. That surprises me and I am wondering if it has been a bodge before? Mine has the criss cross and I have looked at other pictures of S1' and Wedges with the 2.8 K jet and every one I can see does have the criss cross, without it I would assume the cover would be weaker? Get that £20 one of ebay and see, at that price it has to be worth it.

Hi rich, I was worried the 'criss cross' version of the cap from the ford Sierra wouldn't fit mine? I'm taking it there a slightly a different shape looking at the picture.
Ive had a look at the engine bay on a 280 capri, they have the same cap as the one on my TVR S1 hmm
