) he just called me & said i have a split in a 'airflow meter cap' ive looked it up on the alternate parts list, but cannot seem to locate a replacement or they look nothing like the one i have on currently? Does anyone know where i could possibly get hold of one or even better have a spare i could buy. Thanks in advance.

Don't know if this is what you're looking for http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Sierra-2-8-v6-xr4i-...

I've got a funny feeling its not the actual housing but the 'right angle' so & so he mentioned with a split in
I'd have thought it far more likely, but not impossible, that it was the 27+ years old rubber part that had split/cracked/perished?If it is just that elbow (plastic?) a repair to at least get the car running and confirm no further issues wouldn't be too difficult, replacing it when one can be sourced.
Hi Steve, just noticed you said yours doesnt have the criss cross pattern on. That surprises me and I am wondering if it has been a bodge before? Mine has the criss cross and I have looked at other pictures of S1' and Wedges with the 2.8 K jet and every one I can see does have the criss cross, without it I would assume the cover would be weaker? Get that £20 one of ebay and see, at that price it has to be worth it.
