New gearbox casing? Ouch.

Did DPR send it to Road & Race transmissions?

P.S. No offence but what fun is a mechano set if you send it to somebody else for fixing? Get yer spanners out man!

I got them to fix the gearbox as if only just got the car and just wanted to drive it as soon as possible! Also, I prefer tinkering to actually doing the proper stuff hehe

And yes, road & race did the gearbox rebuild. 5000 (road) miles done since then and it's brilliant.

Phil and Keith at Road and Race used to do Caterham gearboxes and diffs for my Dad and I and more recently has done some work on my Dad's Lotus Elan gearbox, always done a great job. I was there once and they had several brand new never fitted Caterham 6-speed 'boxes in for stripping and rebuilding for DPR R300s- they had some issue from factory whereby one of the nuts could loosen itself and bugger the shaft / casing pretty catastrophically.

Epsom downs? I'm near South Croydon and head over that way a bit. Keep your eye out for an orange R300😎

It wasn't too bad, but it's not a straight swap. You have to add brackets at the bottom and move the expansion bottle to move it out of sight..

Few new bits... Stripe sorted to have the Caterham logo cut out from it so it shows through in the body colour thanks to Dub Customs

New seat belts added (old ones were faded and out of date)

And Carbon Dash added biggrin

Hi,

you got an absolute beauty there. I am currently in the process of configuring my 485 S/R. And I am trying to figure out which is the exact color you have. You wrote Mexico Blue, unfortunately I dont find that in the Caterham option list. My dealer said, yours could be Riviera Blue. Do you have any other inside?

Riviera Blue:

Also I am wondering how the blue will look on a SV like the one above because I am probably in for the SV as well. I feel some colors work great on the S3 chassis and not so much on the SV wink

Looking forward to your feedback,
Cheers,
Steffen

Nothing wrong with that, the load is secure, what's the BiB's issue??
