If someone was to not remove the clamp like asked but rather remove the track rod end and simply drive said vehicle away where it would be exported, what would happen.

One would imagine (and this is just a guess) that when you submitted the paperwork for a permanent export the DVLA would block it until the outstanding fine was paid.

Surely the fine or whatever is against the person not the vehicle, the person fined would be taken to court for none payment, if that's already happened then, bayliffs not sure. But getting rid of the car doesn't get rid of the problem. Maybe the person in question should behave like an adult and not a child.

You could always forget to tell DVLA it was being exported. The country it's being imported to don't really need anything bar the V5C.

It's an offence to remove a DVLA immobilisation device without proper authorisation - can lead to a fine of up to £1k, IIRC.

It's all very difficult circumstances.

The vans been broken into and dumped I think the steering lock thwarted the attempts to steal it. Unfortunately I couldn't move it at 2.30am so I went to do it at 9.05AM and the bds were there clamping it.

They won't drop it, I have to pay a fine.

I'm tempted to break the thing for parts.

Untaxed van that might have been up for sale, stolen and dumped on the public highway and then clamped after DVLA got a ping?

Could by entirely unrelated and the OP happens to have another van that he owns and uses.

How do you do it/start?

I've got two vans for sale at the moment, they are huge Iveco Daily's.

I paid not a lot for them and have advertised one on eBay. I've had non stop messages about them.

Two exporters are desperate for them.

They are offering good money pretty easy and one haggled up £1500 more than the first offer so there must be some money in doing it. I just can't work out how!

Cheers!

I have 6 vans.

All sorted, the NSL team are quite helpful actually makes a change.

They are taking the van FOC and storing it until I get back. They have given me 10 days once I explained the circumstances. There was no way of me paying it in time due to holiday.
