I am thinking of changing Jobs and they are making a big thing of them having a "Black Rock Pension". Would I be right in thinking this is just a normal pension. I currently have a final salary scheme so know I will be giving up something but other parts of the offer are attractive.

Thanks for any replies

I suppose you could ask them how the 'Black Rock pension' has outperformed the industry average over the last 10 years! The cynical side of me says the Black Rock rep has signed them up.

Well Blackrock are a highly regarded asset manager, but the first thing to worry about are the terms of the pension scheme - how much do they pay on your behalf!

My employer's scheme (DC of course) has recently changed to a Black Rock one. The charges are pretty low, can't recall the number but did note at the time.
The scheme used to be with Friends Life IIRC who invested in...
...a Black Rock fund!
That was one of the reasons for change, cut out the middle man, lower charges.
