''Tis the season and all that.

All to often Christmas decorations mean awful, tacky pound shop ste.

Surely the powerfully built company director types who post on these boards will have something classier adorning their homes for the festive season.

Post your Christmas decorations in here (when they go up, it's still November let's not be council) or any Christmas themed decorations you've found.

But it's all about the tat surely, embrace it wink

Quite fancy one of those laser thingys that projects a load of coloured stars onto your house though I would fear about it getting nicked from the front garden.

I agree. It is all about the tat. My favourite is the Douglas Fir. A tree named Douglas who when activated via his motion sensor sings a Christmas song and dies a little dance. However, Mrs Darren9 aspires to greater things and is demanding a "classy" Christmas.

We have to alternate between classy (silver and red) dec's and random colour, bright and brash.

This year it is my turn, so classy it is!.

My mum always has a perfectly decorated and symmetrical fake tree. My ex on the other hand insisted on the Swarovski one every year plus an additional one I bought. The tree would always be a real tree and nothing at all matched. It looked good though and told a story. One of her favourites I ever got was £1 from B&Q.

My favourite decoration is a big garland I found in B&Q a few years ago. It drapes perfectly over the white marble mantelpiece and looks lovely smile

Mrs JS is overflowing with enthusiasm for Christmas tat. Some sort of childhood deprivation syndrome manifesting itself I recon.

I confidently predict she'll start pestering within the next couple of weeks for JS Towers to be transformed into some sort of ghastly fairy grotto - for the grandchildren of course - and also confidently predict she'll have a Mental when she discovers I've quite accidentally taken all the shiny shyite she put in bin bags and clearly marked boxes for safe keeping down the tip.

Ahh now we have a dilemma here. Usually we get a tree within the two weeks of Xmas.

We have friends over next weekend that we haven't seen since their wedding in the summer. (They live on the other side of the country too). The following weekend we have booked away. That leaves the weekend before xmas for the tree shopping! I am not spending £40 on a tree that is up for 8 days! They always come down shortly after Christmas but before new year.

So lights have been installed (not switched on yet though) on the house and driveway gate and tree is being collected on Saturday this weekend! Next problem where do we put it!! Damn new sofas!! Will update with pics to get this rolling. Two weeks too early!
