Nobody can tell, 'what can be expected from a stocks and shares ISA', John.
It is a variable form of investment, but has usually been the winner in the past, over longer periods.

However, last year was a very good one for UK share investors.
22% was possible, including an 8% rise in income.

Also achievable has been 14% annual average, over the past 29 years.
