I have had a shower fitted in a new bathroom similar to this kind of shower column idea with massage jets and stuff.

https://www.travisperkins.co.uk/Roca-2H0423000-Ess...

The pressure at the overhead and jets is fine but on the hand wand is really poor, even when you take the head off the hand held unit the water is barely fast enough to wash your hands. Pressure at the taps in the sink is great and the toilet fills quickly.builder is saying its normal and its clearly not as the hand unit is nowhere near good enough for a shower.

Unit is installed in a top floor flat running from a combi boiler system.

Any ideas?

If your saying the hand set does not run well with the main shower running then it may well be that your main and the restriction within the boiler cannot cope with the demand placed on it by both showers operating. If the hand set is poor whilst running on its own id suspect an issue it should be pretty decent.

First thing id do would be remove the hose and hand set and see what comes straight out of the valve.

The system doesn't allow them to run together so it's when it's running on its own. I have tried running it without the head attached and it's very poor. I will try it at the valve and see what the pressure is like

It should work with the one supplied with the unit surely? Its hardly a £40 electric shower.

Our new shower came with a nice new handset but the flow from it was awful. Some form of aerating water saving jobbie, that wasn't advertised. Ended up binning it & using the ''old'' shower handset which allowed the full flow through. Genuine night & day difference between the two!

Randomly just seen a neighbour trying to set up a hand wand thing like yours.

There were some seals missing in his kit, so we used tap washers instead - worked a treat, but we did have enlarge the hole through the middle of the washer / seal. These were where the hot and cold pipes are attached to the mixer, so has someone used washers in your setup with a small hole through the middle?

Possibly filter in hose. Take them out and try again. If not try a low flow shower head
