I have put this in my motor home to make sure that the upholstery don't get damp and generally keep it dry inside over the winter. Do you think this is a good idea or not.

Can of worms on this one I think...

In principle a good idea however the MH isnt air tight so will pull normal/outside air in anyway so the machine will constantly be working.

Some folks go for the dishes of pellets that can then be dried out rather than having to have something plugged in.

It cant do any harm but may not do much good either. I had one and sold it on Fleabay...

I use of of those Unibond Aero 360 Moisture Absorber devices. No need to plug in and everytime I go back to the motorhome, it has some liquid in the collection bit. It's coming from somewhere, so reckon it must be doing 'something' !

If you think of the thousands of motorhomes lined up in the manufacturers and dealers sales area, how many of them have dehumidifiers fitted? Same with boats and planes, not many bother and as soon as it warms up a bit the damp disappears.
