John Ryan mattress

I've seen a few people mention in old threads that they'd bought a John Ryan mattress.

Has anyone got either an Origins Pocket 1500 or Origins Pocket Latex 1500?

I'm trying to choose between the two. I like a firm mattress, but don't want it to be like a slab of concrete...

Ring them, they are very helpful on the phone. If you ordered one of their web site they'll ring you anyway to make sure you've had advice first.

We have Origins 1500 mattresses and they are very good, we have one "soft" sprung and one "medium". I seem to remember it goes according to your weight.

How timely!

We've just had an Artisan Bespoke 004 delivered last week.

This, with an additional 1000gsm wool mattress topper, means that I am currently struggling to get out of bed at the moment

We opted for medium one side and firm on the other, for me, which felt a bit firm for the first few days but I think that this was just the mattress filling settling.

We ordered just after new year, delivery was about 2 weeks later. My sister in law ordered a different mattress from them, either just before, or over the Christmas period and John Ryan coincidentally scheduled delivery for both of us on the same day. We are in the south though so it was probably just a logistics decision more than anything.

Very happy though, bearing in mind that we weren't able to try it out beforehand.

Just to add, we've now got a Artisan 1500 and as other posters have said the mattress tension you want is largely based on weight but there are other factors - height, what sort of base it's going on, the fillings for the particular mattress as some are naturally firmer than others, and so on. I'm 6ft3 and around 17st at the moment, normally sit nearer 16st but being on steroids for over a year has taken its toll, but anyway thought I'd need a firm mattress but having spoken to them was recommended to go for a medium. Glad we did as it's spot on and I'm not sure I'd want it any firmer. Call them, they are very helpful and there is no pressure to purchase what so ever, in fact the guy I spoke to said they don't take orders over the phone so once I'd decided to put it through on their website.
