Proud new owner of a '89 2.8 V6 S1.....I just wanted to know if there are any known sympathisers to the TVR cause around Newcastle - anybody know when the next local TVRCC meet is? Haven't got me Sprint yet!

I can only recall one S in the North East and that belonged to Wildfire. He's since gone down South, but he had a wonderfull exhaust on his V6 that sounded sublime. If you do a search for the Holy island thread, there's a video of him coming off the causeway sounding great.

As he's now gone, I suppose you are the only S in the North East that I know of.

Class! I'm gonna have to treat it to a stainless system. Sounds like a NASCAR at the moment, but that's because it's blowing from the front pipes.

Chris had all manor of troubles with his S3 by all accounts - as he was leaving the NE his manifold started to blow as well. If I remember correctly his exhaust was a custom job made by ACT with V8 sized pipes, but with V6 inners or fronts. If you look back a month of two there is a post by CougarAFC / Couger asking about exhausts and a few good companies were mentioned.

Incidently, Chris (WildfireS3) is no longer WildfireS3, but Wildfire500 he's gone and bought himself a Griff 500 by all accounts

I've spoken to the boys down at Scotswood Tyrespot, and they said if there isn't a system to fit, they'll make one using Powerflow bits. Good lads. Hopefully it'll be running for this weekend.....

Gareth

The North East TVRCC meet at the Premier Lodge hotel carpark near Newcastle Airport on the second Sunday of every month. Usually a good gathering of TVR's and i know of two S's that attend. One is an early White one, and the second is a V8S, but it's always nice to have more

Thanks Paul - I'd be proud to add a 3rd. I need a few tips on keeping the thing in good health.

My dad's got a red F reg S1 in his garage, bought 10ish years ago and seen precious little action in the last 7. Will probably be sold this year once it gets new exhausts.

He must have had a hard paper round since the holy island hoon then - cause this guy looked late 40's with a beard

There is/was another green one as well. About a year or so ago I'd see it heading north over the Tyne Bridge at about 7:30am. Stopped at the lights next to it a couple of times and we exchanged wave and grins. I'd always assumed it was Chris (young driver), but then when I met Chris he looked nothing like the driver. And the fact that Chris never waved at a guy in a wedge or travel north over the bridge at that time of the morning.

I saw a black one on the road down from the Tyne Tees studios to the quayside once a couple of years ago too.

The V8S that comes to some of the TVRCC meetings is dark green. Tim the driver could be described as mid 40's.
