Broken G9 capsule - how to remove?
Discussion
Help please.
I have a broken G9 capsule in a light fitting. It is one of 6 bulbs in the fitting so we can live without it but a broken bulb looks naff.
I have tried tweezers with no luck. Had anyone any ideas on how to remove. I have never installed a light fitting before so not sure about dismantling it.

Sure you already have but make sure the fitting isn't on when have have your hands in it.
G9 lamp remains should just pull out of you can get a reasonable grip on it, if you have long nose pliers thin enough try them.
If not get two small flat screwdrivers, put one each side of the bulb and turn each to Apply pressure between the lamp, screwdriver and holder, then pull, may take a few attempts.
Araldite etc and a matchstick or string should also work.
If still no joy then the lamp holder is easy enough to remove.

If it unscrews just an adjustable spanner or small mole grips and twist, don't crush it, just enough pressure to get a grip
I assumed he's trying to get the glass bit out of the white plastic bit? Or is the whole white plastic bit coming out of the fitting too? Mole grips won't grip anything by the looks of it as the glass has snapped within the holder.
Yes it is the glass that has snapped. I will hunt out some needle nose pliers, and will try the screwdrivers. Problem is the glass keeps breaking off. I do have some araldite handy though...
I tried pulling the whole unit out but it has two wires leading into it at the back and so will not come out of the mount.

I'd go with a small screwdriver and a hammer. The remains of the capsule is glass, glass breaks. Break it into small bits and it will fall out. Or at least break up enough to get a small screwdriver in to hook the final bits out.
As this is pistonheads, then encase your house in concrete in case the glass has asbestos in it.
