Hello there.

One of my colleagues is having a problem trying to secure her mortgage. Being self employed she has to present an sa302 form. I have helped her to go through the gov website and got what we believe to be the sa302. It looks like this.

Unfortunately the building society are asking for this. Which looks like an older version? If it's still current , where do we get it from please.

Thanks

The first one is called the Tax Calculation form..........it's the new digital version of the SA302 and should be accepted by most lenders these days unless you are using an old school obscure BS.

The second form is the old paper version of the SA302 and if you need that version you will have to request it to be sent out to you by HMRC, for which they often quote 2-3 weeks for it to arrive....

Good luck!

Are you sure it doesn't look like that when you print it? (Not a screen shot)

My accountant sends me these each year, we moved 18 months ago and had exactly this issue. If you have an accountant and they file electronically they can get these pretty quickly or if they are as in my case emailed to you each tax year then print them out. Pretty sure my guy sent them as an email and I forwarded them on to the building society.

We had this recently. The Council of Mortgage Lenders has an agreement with HMRC over the validity of said forms but it appears that, at a local level, the information doesn't get through.

More information here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/mortgag...

and try googling SA302 Council of Mortgage Lenders for further information.

Ours were accepted once we'd pointed the mortgage lender in the right direction...

The second photo is actually a reprint of an SA302 from the HMRC. We keep the original SA302's sent from the HMRC and recently they don't get accepted by mortgage companies/brokers. Apparently they're so used to seeing copies they've never seen an original.
