What would people expect to be reasonable fees for conveyancing for remortgaging a 1 bed central london (leasehold) flat? (I own the mgmt company if this is relevant).

I've been quoted £850+VAT which seems excessive.

Do you need to do anything on the legal side.
I didn't.

The mortgage company had some legal fees which I had to cover.

I think the norm is that firms have fixed prices based on the value, rather than the size of the property so x amount if 0-500k, y if 500-million etc. Get a few more quotes.

Worth paying a bit more for someone who will do it fast, rather than have you in the backlog of cases.

edit- as above, yes why on a re-mortgage, do you mean a valuation survey?

Why are you paying for conveyancing on a remortgage?
