Sketchy information at the moment........but just heard that a test drive of a new TVR resulted in a head-on-collision, and 2 patients being brought to the Leicester Royal Infirmary in a very bad state.

Dealership name removed as not confirmed.

Currently work at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. Friend at work today initially rang me to check it wasnt me that was involved. Got some more details later after the ambulances arrived.

Sad news to hear. I also work at the LRI, but didn't get wind of this myself. A cautionary tale for anyone driving a Tiv, but especially so for those about to get in for a test drive, especially if they haven't driven such a powerful car before.

I have had it confirmed that the passenger (sales chap) was killed and the driver was critically injured.

Horrible business. So sad for their families.

That is awful. Do we know which dealer it was? Surely there can't be any harm in publishing this, if it's known. I am sure there are people here who know the dealership and the people involved and may want to send their condolences personally.

OMG! That's terrible! My condolences to the family and friends of the salesman. A test drive is one thing, but no-one can imagine this happening when going out on a Saturday test drive. Awful..truly awful.

I really hate seeing threads like this arriving on PHs - seems to happen twice a year or thereabouts. I really hope this is the last one, but fear by the law of averages that it is not going to be. How quickly lives can be lost and those of others changed for ever. I never met you Toby, but we shared a passion for cars. RIP mate.
