Putting a charge on a property, cost and recommendations?

Hi All,

Need to put a charge on a property (that has no mortgage on it) for security against a loan

Loan amount is around £500k.

Can anyone advise on what I should be paying a solicitor for this service and anyone PH recommends?

Not a big job really so I'd expect to pay a nominal fee. I'm not a solicitor but all is required is a CH1 form to be signed and ID for money laundering.

It's not a big job but you'll struggle to find a good solicitor that won't look at the loan amount and think in terms of percentages.

I'd be curious to hear how you got on with this actually.
