oil? for stair box oak clad staircase.
Discussion
Recently have installed the stair box oak cladding (looks amazing) but am getting different opinions from trades i know regarding what to protect it with.
Its a very very light oak colour and id like to retain that look, i don't want it darker or glossy/varnished iyswim.
When i was done i used beeswax (on recommendation from a decorator i know) it has only had 1 coat but now a few people have said beeswax will not really provide any protection. So I've held off doing any more and am looking to rub it back (if necessary) and apply something else.
What about an oil? I know a few on here have used stair box stuff (its where i saw it), what did you do? (btw its only the posts, rails and skirting no treads and its got glass not spindles.
