Hello chaps, quick two part question for you.

Firstly, I have inherited an FZR400 from 'er indoors for my CBT/DA and to learn on. It seems to have a bit of an issue with overheating. My first thoughts (if it was a Mini) would be to replace the thermostat and if not to have a look at the water pump (do bikes have pumps?) is this right or are there other things I should look at?

Secondly 'er indoors has just been quoted £160 fitted to fit 2 Dunlop D207 tyres to her CBR600F-Y. Is this a decent price?

Thanks in advance.

Matt.

cant say much about heating, is the radiator got enough liquid in ,and is it circulating ok?

the tyres are about right, or even cheap depending where you go.

Make sure the fluid levels are right and if they are get the hose pipe through the system to flush out any gunk. Whip out the thermostat and check for build-ups of radiator repair gunge. You will have a water pump somewhere and it will be driven internally rather than by a belt I imagine. You'll be able to trace it by following the pipes once you get the bodywork off. If the pump wasn't working I suspect the bike would have blown up by now, check if the rad gets hot though.

suspect the head gasket.
I had one go, and it pushed most the water out the system.
