Integra steering "groan"

The steering on my integra dc5 has started groaning/moaning on turns of the wheel when you first start the car in the morning, it does it for a couple of minutes then is fine.
I had the P/S fluid changed, which hasn't affected it.
what would likely cause this? A few people have said it could be the pump, and a few have said the steering rack...neither are exactly cheap fixes, any way i can narrow it down between the two?
It was on the ramps for MOT yesterday, and there's no leaks from the rack or elsewhere in the steering, so if it is the rack i presume i have some time before it "fails"?
