Hello, I've literally lost the will.

I made a will about 18 years ago but have lost all record of it and the company that I made it with.
Is there a central register of wills? Could I find it somehow using just my name and address?

Or, if I make another will now, does it automatically override any that I've previously written?

Thanks

Not that I'm aware of.

As you are still alive it doesn't matter as it should be relatively straightforward to make a new one.

Yes, and it should say that on the Will itself.

There is no central register of wills and easy to prepare a new more up-to-date one to reflect your current wishes. Normally it is held with the company/solicitors preparing and you have a copy.

Good to let others know where it is kept at home and or who prepared it for the obvious reason.

Write new will and ensure it starts with "i revoke all former testamentary dispositions" or suchlike and the old one counts for nothing.
