Decent fire rated downlights

Aurora again... great quality for the money!
I'd consider using the full Led solution and not GU10's now though... Aurora's ones are the best I've seen, no visible LED's, no separate drivers, choice of bezels and lenses etc
I've used the M7's, M10's and now the MPro's and all can be bought for under £20 a fitting so no where near as expensive as they were 3-5 years ago.

Cheap, decent connections on the top that you can get 2x1mm in easily enough and because the can steps in following the shape of the lamp it makes it 100 times easier to get in the hole in the ceiling. The only negative is the last few I have fitted the spring clip hasn't been fitted to the case quite right and one or two have pinged of into the ceiling void.

We've juts fitted about 40 of the 700's nice lights, and they look better than the 550's when they are off70 degree beam, dimmable as standard and 7 year warranty.

I believe Enlite is part of the Aurora group - I need some basic lights for a utility room and wondered if anyone had tried these: https://www.screwfix.com/p/enlite-fire-rated-fixed...
OK so first one done - Meridian
This was to replace some JCC MR16's with some some god awful holes around the edges where the previous owners had struggled (as I did) with the superhuman springs and ears - do they need to hold up a 2 tonne weight ???
I made a 70mm template out of a piece of old MDF to enlarge the hole
Better built and much easier to fit - I only fluffed it because the spring got caught on a piece of old lath (it's been plasterboarded over) once that was padsawed it was an easy fit

I've been perfectly happy with these... Need to take a bit of care with the bulb retaining clip.

I've found the springs on all the Robus ones are so strong they destroy plasterboard if you ever need to remove them...

They are dimmable, which is handy, but more importantly they aren't crazy bright. I have 5 in my office to give a nice spread of light, but dimmed a bit so it's not crazy bright.
In my hallway I have one and again had to get a dimmer to stop it being over the top... and that's the 4.5w model. I don't think my house is big enough to need the 8.5w one!
