One for the PH plumbers - bath mixer tap washers

I’ve got a problem with my bath mixer tap, it has leaked before, so that the shower attachment would dribble when the bath was running, I replaced the washers but I don’t think I got the right size. The washers have now deteriorated to a point where the tap leaks internally and water can start to come through the ceiling...

It is the same style of tap as sold by Victoria Plumb but they will not tell me who makes it or give any details as to the washers I need. There seems to be at least 3 washers in the mechanism, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Call the manufacturer for the correct washers or service kit. They are best placed to tell you what is needed.

A quick look on the victoriaplum website shows it is made by Orchard Bathrooms :

Just do as I did and take it down to your local plumbing merchant and I am sure they will sort you out

Yep the local Plumbase took pity on me and were incredibly helpful when faced with an identical situation

Went to Graham’s plumbers merchants, they said unless they knew the manufacturer they couldn’t help, they had very little by way of spare washers too.

You need the washer kit for a diverter valve

Nope they said they would not tell me who manufactures it, would not supply any spares but offered me 10% off a new £300 tap...

Muncher - try Stowmarket Bathrooms / Plumbing if you can get there - guy on the trade counter really knows his stuff and always seems to have solutions for things!
