Have a tree from JL that has a bunch of tiny LED lights, but despite me carefully wrapping the transformer plug with the cable it has gone AWOL while the missus was unwrapping baubles etc

Have searched on Amazon but all possible replacements have a cable and plug attached but I just need the power socket with the right adaptor socket.

Probably not searching using correct terminology but this is what the cable and looks like with voltage details

If anyone can find the plug to match I would be very grateful

You could just buy the adaptor you have mentioned, chop off both plugs and wire them togther, with suitable connector. Not as if it’s putting much power out so no real risk of danger - proably!

The bit of info missing from that photo to allow you to buy a replacement is the polarity of the inner and outer bit of the connector. Any other info anywhere or have you got a meter you can measure it with?

There is a convention which MOST follow I think, but I don't remember what it is and it isn't universally followed.

For some lights it won't matter.

What size is the connector? Will you be using them outside?

Got a Raspberry Pi? Or an Arduino? Could be an excuse for a cool project......

Well I have a make and part number - obviously made in China so didn't hold out much hope of getting a direct replacement (their website contact is in China and my Mandarin is a bit rusty)

Make - NingBo Golden Power Electronic Co
Model - Transformer / AC Adaptor GP-SW240DC0250(UK)

With these issues I can usually find an equivalent for a couple of quid on eBay

Someone with same problem here, unfortunately linked to a product that doesn't appear anymore:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/ask/questions/Tx1BNNB6IGX...

Surely the part number with DC means I need DC output?

How old is the set? Have tried contacting JL Cutomer Service? They might be able to point you in the right direction..

If the connector is 5mm, and if somebody can confirm that a 5va outout is the same as 5w, and if you promise not to sue me when your house burns down, then PM me your address, and I'll stick this in the post:

If I recall, Watts = Volts x Amps.. so that would be 120 Watts, no good me thinks

I thought 5va was the same as 5w. It's for running a string of LEDs, so I doubt it's 120w

Depends on the power factor if the pf = 1 then yes 5VA = 5W.

yes it just powers a bunch of tiny LED lights

So JL still sell similar models but mine is 3 years old so won't replace (understandably) and don't sell the transformer separately

https://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-pre-lit-birch...

mine certainly doesn't have 750 little bulbs though

looking at the photo of the label per my OP it looks like it is 160 lights at 3V/0.045W ?
