As per title really.

Inspired by Harryflashmans "getting financially literate" thread I've decided I need to get my st together and a plan in place.

Signed up for a couple of courses on futurelearn to get the foundations and am now looking at day to day tools to help me keep track of my money.

Anyone use a budgeting app? Have looked at wallet and similar but unsure whether they are worth the monthly subscription.

I spoke to some people about this recently and they found that using Monzo or Starling Bank current accounts as their primary account and using the features in the app worked for them.

My solution is a bit more manual - on payday leave in my current account what I'm willing to spend and transfer the rest to the best interest savings account(s) I have. Whatever is left in the current account the day before next payday will also go into this/these account(s)
