Hopefully this is in the correct section....

Background: Although I will be residing in the UK when I apply for the mortgage I work on a rotational basis and therefore spend 6 months of the year out of the country. I believe this has an effect on the type of mortgages available and the lenders who will offer the cash.

So before I start contacting the companies online I thought I'd see if anyone has any tips and/or recommendations if they have been through the process and worked in a similar fashion?

What can I expect in terms of offers that differ from "regular" mortgages.... ?

Any info greatly received from those in the know. smile

I do the same & as long as you are resident in the UK & can show a UK tax return that shows income, I don't think it willl have an impact.

However declaring no Uk income may be a bigger problem! But, and I know they are different, I was non resident & showed zero income, & had no problem with BTL mortgages.

Thanks for the prompt response Rob.

I should have mentioned my tax situation. I don't pay any UK tax. Income does come into UK bank account though. So obviously the 90 day rule applies for my residency status also.

You may well find that if your company remits into a Uk bank & you source the mortgage from the same bank it may also not present a problem.

I'm having a chat with my own bank on Tuesday regarding mortgages, so I'll check how they see things & let you know.

What currency are you paid in, as per your contract?
