Building a shingle roof.
Discussion
Moving on for my "Pit of Despair" thread, SWMBO has expressed a desire for a shingle roof. I've had a bit of a Google and it seems straightforward, but most suggest using "sheathing" as the substructure. It seems more straightforward to use OSB as per a shed roof (as that's pretty much what it is). Is there any reason not to?
And anyone got a good supplier, and any hints and tips...

OSB is sheathing or you can have sheathing in plywood; Are you talking about cedar shingles or the ashphalt type? The latter fix direct to your OSB whilst timber ones usually fix to battens/counter battens to enable air to circulate, loads of guides online. What have you been ordered to build anyhow?

I'm planning to clad the walls in waney edge wood and build a small cedar shingle roof over for a wood store.
